The light colored yarn is Ecologico Camel made in Germany (15% camel hair and 85% new wool) and the variegated part is Red Heart Yarn sent to me by Jodie of Everything Vintage for my birthday last year, or was it the year before? My how time flies.
Our Friday has gotten off to a nice start with brilliant blue skies. We'll just have to see when that predicted dust storm will start to kick up. For now, it's a beautiful day.
Progress is being made on my baby granny stripe. I'm using leftover yarn, though, and am afraid I will run out before I'm able to finish. That's the only thing about using your stash.
Jan at A Journey asked about progress on the kids bedroom makeover. Once we started back to school, my organizing mojo was interrupted so haven't done much else in there. As you can see, I did get some things hung on the wall, although my oldest son asked that I not do so.
The caricatures were done of the boys when we were in Madrid about 6 years ago by an Iraqi artist who had been in Spain for years. The one to the right of the window is of Zack. And this one of Yusef is just above his electric drum set.
Yusef had a friend over yesterday who looked around and said "you have a lot of stuff." Yep! I hear that all the time.
Wishing you all a fabulous Friday!

Tammyyyy I love your interior! It is this kind of home that make me dream :) Like a Alibaba tavern :)
Thank you so much for your visit today!
The granny stripe is looking very nice!
Have a wonderful friday,
Angie
Hy my dear, hihi the comment of Yusefs friend could have been done in my home, too ;o) But I think having a lot of stuff also means having a lot of memories, and that's wonderful, isn't it? Everything is telling a story... the nice caricatures e.g. are telling a story about a Spain-journey with your family...
Your bowl looks pretty - but I had to laugh about the yarn: "Camel made in Germany" - I think there are more Camels in Kuwait than in Germany *ggg*
Warm rusty-rose-hugs, dearest Tammy,

I love your "stuff!" You combine it all so very well! And, another great bowl. Those are just too cute! Have a wonderful weekend, Tammy! blessings ~ Tanna
The bowl is neat. I've been crocheting, too - isn't it calming? Love the shots of the interior of your home.

You may have lots of "stuff" but your home looks cozy. Love that bowl - I really must set aside time to work on my crochet!
Tammy I love the inside of your home and it looks so incredibly interesting with all your treasures around!
The bowl is so pretty and I am intrigued by yarn that has camel hair in it, that must be so interesting to work with and the bowl looks so rustic!
Have a super day...
Tina xo
Oh what a goregous house and that bowl is amazing.
I didn't know you could knit bowls.
What do you do with all of your crochet items? They're lovely.
By contrast, our walls are bare, but I like them like that. :) We don't have a lot of space and it makes it look more open.
Today, I'm starting on phase 2 of my album drawing that I started last year. I have to be in the mood for creating and as you can see, that doesn't happen very often for me. Mostly, I just look forward to doing nothing once I'm off work. ;)
Snow and ice coming in today here, but not supposed to be very much (unlike Chicago, 2 hours to the north, which is predicting much more for that area).
It's the weekend almost here now and I'm looking forward to it.
Linda
Hi thanks so much for visiting my blog and leaving such a sweet comment. I've been living in Qatar for almost 10 years. I always admire people who can crochet. I wish I could. Your crocheted bowl is so cute and pretty. I'm your newest follower, will definitely visit you again soon. Have a great weekend!

THAT IS JUST A KID TALKING.....YOUR HOME IS SOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL.....AND NOT OVER CROWDED.....ITS YOUR HOME...
YOUR GRANNY BLANKET IS PRETTY....LOVE THE COLORS.....NOW...THE BASKET.....
IT LOOKS LIKE IT WOULD BE SO DIFFICULT TO MAKE....IT IS GORGEOUS..
YOU ARE SO TALENTED.....ENJOY YOUR WEATHER AND WEEKEND.....RIZZI
Your bowl is gorgeous!! Do you need me to send you some yarn? I would be happy to. Just let me know. Also the boys caricatures are too cute! I have one of my children also. So fun! Hope your year is getting off to a good start.
Hugs,
Tammy
I like a lot of stuff too! I think your home is beautiful. I'm glad you put the pictures up even against their wishes. It really does add so much to the walls. About the afghan, it's kind of like too many chips so you have to get more salsa and then you have too much salsa left over so you have to get more chips, etc, etc......I love the texture of this new basket, that yarn is perfect for them, isn't it? Diane
I am glad someone else is accused of having a lot of stuff. I always agree and say I love every bit of it! Another cute bowl. American Idol has found lots of talented people this year.
Deb
Crocheting and wathcing TV...my favorite pastime. :-) Darling bowl.
Wow, the rooms look nice! I like the curtains and the black bookcases with all the 'stuff' on them. The drawings of the boys are really fun! Glad you kept them up on the walls.
Your living space is just so 'welcoming'. No wonder you crochet so much...it's a comfy room!
Thanks for sharing! Now, come to my house an re-do my studio!
Tammy I love your room but I am a minimalist at heart and can't bear lots of stuff around the place (only in the workroom. lol) the funny thing is, I yearn for a more homely feel but know that I would soon be turfing stuff out to make it more sparse.
I suppose it takes all sorts. lol
Have a lovely weekend

Dearest Tammy,
Great crocheted basket of part camel hair! Looks very nice in that picture.
As for your home, it looks very cozy and warm in a middle eastern style.
Enjoy your Friday evening... late already for you!
Love to you,
Mariette
Oh, but what 'cool' stuff you have!
I LOVE the crocheted bowl... I need to learn to crochet!
Blessings, Debbie
I think the caricatures add a great touch to the boys' room. Your bowl is lovely!
Generally, I'm a lover of white furniture, white or cream walls, and topped with colourful accents BUT, your living space could well convert me. I absolutely LOVE all the treasures you have and your home looks so welcoming and cosy.
Have a lovely weekend!
Love,
Serena xo
How fun is that bowl? I am jealous of your lovely weather. I wish I had some here!
Happy weekend Tammy!
xo Catherine
I just love your basket! So lovely and your granny stripe is looking just as wonderful! Have a great weekend. blessings,Kathleen
the bowl is delightful..your home is cozy and inviting...hope the weather holds for you,,,have a great weekend
Dear Tammy....I can hardly believe you make those lovely bowls from crochet. You are SO talented. I could NEVER do those...."nev-vah."
You have all the "stuff" so nicely arranged. It looks so comfy and artistic.
Hope you have a good Saturday. Susan
Such lovely bowls you have made and I love the decor! Just awesome! I think I need more stuff on my walls. LOL
The bowl you crocheted is very pretty. I love its ethnic design. Your baby granny stripe looks great too.
Oh I love your cozy sweet home! Hugs to you my friend.
Alibaba Tavern...LOL! I think that about sums it up. I can't walk in your place without wondering if you put up something else. The boys room is coming out great. The boys and I had caritures...whatever...done in NYC when we went there a few years back. The guy gave me a really nice figure...lol! Your bowls are awesome...I foresee one of those in my future ;p Looking forward to seeing you today even though its a bit dusty.
Friendship Hugs,
Melissa

Tammy I love the bowl...how creative!
So happy to have solved my blogger problems, so much catching up to do this weekend!!
Wow you do have a lot of stuff, looks amazing as does the crochet bowl
Have a wonderful weekend
Lol Karen x
I really like the little bowl you made - It looks just perfect.
Your granny stripe is gorgeous - love the colours. I sure know about the issue of using scraps, but it does make things more interesting in the end.
Enjoy your week.
I like "a lot of stuff", too... everytime I try to take out some things I feel sad--I miss them because there's a story behind each and every piece I own! So sometimes I just move them around a bit, or put them away temporarily and after a while rearrange them again.
So... your place is just perfect! :)

(oh... and I want to give those bowls a try! they're gorgeous!)
