Market Morning

Making over the kids room meant that a new rug was needed so hubby and I headed out to Friday Market this morning.
He wanted to buy a light brown rug but I have a thing for color so this is the one that came home with us.
And since the rug was purchased rather quickly, we had time to do a bit of browsing.
And shopping.  Two dallahs (Arabic coffee pots) and a teapot came home with us, too.
After 17 years in the Middle East, I've decided they might be a good thing to collect.

Tomorrow I will be putting together a bookshelf we bought this afternoon at Ikea. After a bit more organizing, the kids room will be almost complete.  This project has been on my to-do list for quite a while so feels good to get it done.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Love the rug. The teapots are great and so many to choose from! It would be a shame not to collect lovely things from where there is so much to choose from. Such a culture rich place you live.

The rug is really outstanding....glad you stuck to your instinct and got one with beautiful colors!
Those teapots are so pretty, too. My hubby was staioned in Turkey in the 80's and brought one back with him. It's gone now, but I remember I loved the spout!

I've been such a horrible blogger this holiday season and I'm trying to get lots of visiting and catching up done this weekend--you're one of my first New Years' visits!

Sending loads of good wishes your way, dear friend...

Hi Tammy,
The market looks a great place to visit and looking at your pictures with the music track you've chosen is so evocative.
We have a Friday market in Totnes which is amazing, I'll post pictures next week.
Hugs, Angela.

First, love the background music, almost made me want to belly dance but thought better of it. lol

Wish we had the beautiful markets here, so full of colour.

I had a large carpet similar to the one you have just bought and was so sad when it finally wore out.

Hi Tammy,
A very healthy, happy and crafty 2012! Girl, I can't believe we are already a week into the new year, we came back wednesday evening, tired but full with lovely memories, family, friends, travelling, you know how it goes, anyway, back here in cold Switzerland, no sunshine but wet snow surrounding us...Monday school starts again, tomorrow sweetheart leaves for a week trip again, so life as we know it, yep, the holiday is almost over.
You inspire me to clear out our stuff, I feel like I'm hamstering anything lately, so a good clear out will be needed, soon.... pfffff....
Gotta take out my laundry, see you soon and I'm glad we've met each other with blogging, hugs!

Dearest Tammy,

Thanks for stopping by! First off, your blog looks great with its new look. Well done and I love the music...
You both made a worthwhile trip to the Friday market. Strange idea in fact for having a market on Sunday as that is your off day. But maybe smart as more people will be able to visit! Love the rug and the collection of Arab coffee & teapots just fits you. Part of the culture you're living in.

Love to you,

Mariette

Tammy- love the beautiful red rug!! Great choice. The market looks wonderful from your pictures. My husband spent a year in Kuwait several years ago ( after the Gulf War) and he brought home a coffee pot just like the round one on the front of your photo. It sits on our fireplace hearth.

I'm betting your boys love their new room!!
