My boss went to Italy over winter break with his family and brought us back a package of Italian pasta. He said that he hoped the boys enjoyed eating the Italian flag.
The artisanal pasta shop they visited in Venice has been in business since 1905. He shared with me this picture of a mechanical machine (there's a name for it but can't think of it right now) that sits in the front window of the store making pasta all day.
I cooked some up along with sauteed onion and zucchini for lunch yesterday. A big bowl of comfort food on a cloudy day.
I hope all is well in your corner of the world.

Hi Tammy, looks yummy! Although it's 10 am here, so not for now (I will try sauteed onions too in my pasta, I do it with chicken but never with pasta, so thanks for the tip).
Enjoy your saturday!

MMMmmmmm, what a colorful pasta, dearest Tammy! I don't know why, but your post gives me some kind of summer-feeling today (may be it's the music?) When I look out of my window, there is sunshine and snow falling, all together...

Warm hugs to you and your family! Traude
I am actually just about to go make a similar dish for tomorrow's meal when my mother comes over and I want to get the cooking done today. I would not think there are a lot of gray days where you live, but I'm glad you were able to spend that day at home yesterday! Your new project looks good and I'm guessing it might use up some of your scraps? I love that kind of thing as it always ends up looking good! I like your new blog look! Wonderful!!
your baby stripes and pasta stripes go together! and not just the stripes - they are equally cozy and warm :)
Looks very yummy! I love the color of the pasta. I don't think it would work with the American flag.....LOL Kit
Tammy, So good to hear from you yesterday! I am just catching up on your sweet blog. I love your photos, and just lust after the marketplaces with the rugs and all the colorful textiles and things! Your needlework is so sweet and colorful. I love your cozy home too! You did a great job on that bedroom. Be seeing you in blogland!
Hugs,
Sherry

Dearest Tammy,
Can't get into your blog from my PC... but using my laptop I can reach you now. Please have a look at today's post from the blog 'A Lapin Life' it is on my sidebar. You will LOVE that little cross stitch frame about FRIENDS.
What fun to eat the Italian flag that way. Yeah, I get heavy hearted at times as we've lived and worked in the Venice area... Miss it a lot!
Love to you,
Mariette
What a nice boss you have ~ that past looks fun!
Happy weekend!

That's going to be a really pretty granny blanket. Your Italian pasta dish looks delicious! Sounds like you are making lots of headway with clearing out the junk and clutter!
Crochet and pasta...what a great combination! Enjoy the rest of the weekend, Tammy.
Hi Tammy,
Love that colored Italian pasta - I hope your boys had fun eating it. I love staying inside on the grey and gloomy days. It's a great time to get things done or just sip tea and read a good book.
Enjoy your week!
Sharon
The baby granny stripe is looking lovely and your pasta meal looks delicious, Tammy! We're having some rainy days here which is a good thing because it's cooling the temps down from the dreadful heatwave we had last week.
Enjoy your weekend,
Serena xo
