Simple Pleasures

Project Simple Pleasures2

I am joining Dayle at A Collection of This and That for Simple Pleasures on Thursday.

Something that doesn't happen in Kuwait during the summer ... reading outdoors on a beautiful summer's day! I take the opportunity to do just that when I am in the States.

Most activities are even more enjoyable when you can sit outside on a lovely day, breathe fresh air and just BE! Fabulous magazines that I can't find in Kuwait, a little crochet to pass the time.

And all is well with my soul!

Please visit Dayle and all the other participants of Simple Pleasures for a little soul refreshment of your own. Wishing you much peace and many blessings, Tammy

Oh Tammy, don't you just love Country Living Magazine? I also love Victoria. So glad you got to do some things in the States that you cannot do in Kuwait. I'm sure it's visa versa, too. Take care. Susan

What a great simple pleasure! Things we often take for granted. I'm a crocheter, so I noticed your crocheted piece. Lovely.

We do take a lot of things for granted, don't we.
I don't have the time right now, but I will be back to read about your life in Kuwait. How interesting!

I'm glad you are enjoying the magazine you took back home with you. I guess we have your Mom to thank for letting us browse while she ate.

I'll be curious to hear your review of The Happiness Project. And seeing your issue of Country Home reminded me to go get a copy! Thanks :-)

Hi Tammy,
You are so right about simple pleasures, sitting in the sun, walking by the beach or simply just sitting and thinking. We all need time to 'Catch up with ourselves' in todays crazy world.
Enjoy,
Angela.

Guess who is back on your blog??? Welcome back to Kuwait, dear. I opened up your blog, and the first thing I saw was the ITHACA beer. YEA!! SO glad you enjoyed your time in the US. The simple pleasures of reading a book outside on the porch is about as good as it gets. Hope you find time for some of those simple pleasures in Kuwait. Even if it is indoors instead of outside!

Love ya,
Renee

I love this part, "... sit outside and just be."

That sums up the feeling in this post best of all. You also caused me to remember that not everyone has the privilege on a daily basis, and that I should take more time to do JUST THAT.

That crochet pattern is just gorgeous, Tammy :) And you used one of my favorite yarns - Buttercream or something like that ;) Where did you find the pattern, if I may ask?

Hi Tammy,
I'm so happy to hear that you were able to have such an enjoyable time on your visit home to the states. I think that I take such pleasure in just being outdoors. It's soul satisfying.
I loved your Antropologie post. I could so live in one. And think of how much fun it would be to dress up for a night on the town! The stores are so beautifully decorated. An experience, everytime I go.

Isn't it a shame that most times we are too busy to be doing what you have mentioned. In my younger days I remember such days, they seem not to have a place too often any more. You've reminded me to look for them. Hope that you are getting rested. Blessings to you.

I see your reading The Happiness Project, that was on my reading list, but I didn't get it read by the time I had to have it returned at the library. Even librarians must return books on time.

I agree - reading a book outside is truly a simple pleasure.

Thanks for stopping by to visit me today.

I am so glad you had such an enjoyable trip to the states. I bet it feels good to get home though. LOVE Country Home Mag.... I always just want to move into the rooms featured!
Your crocheted dishcloth is so pretty! I am actually trying to figure out how to do this. I bought a few for myself the other day and thought I could make a few for my girls for Christmas. It might take that long to figure out the pattern!
