June 2010, Geneva IL, USA
Morning, Kuwait, August 13, 2010
Opening the balcony door is like opening an oven.
Standing outside is like being in a sauna. But my little moss roses, bless them, continue to bloom and give me a little color.
We've been back in Kuwait for 4 days now. Temperatures are hitting 118 mid-day and humidity is high; this afternoon there is wind and light dust. The kids and I have major jet lag. Yesterday morning I was up at 3:30 am. Today 5:45 am. The kids are keeping really weird hours, sleeping most of the day away.
Jingles has the right idea. By noon or 1 pm, I'm going cross-eyed so a nap is in order. It usually takes us a couple of weeks to get back on track. For me, that will be just in time for my return to work on the 26th.
Hope everyone has had a good week. Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead. Peace & blessings, Tammy

I am in complete agreement with Jingles & I don't even have jet-lag!!
I never thought of a desert country like Kuwait as being humid. I always thought it was arid??
Glad you all arrived home safe & sound!
Have a Wonderful Weekend!

Have a great weekend and hope you are able to catch up to your jet-lag....
Oh Tammy...I'm sorry the weather there is so awful. As you well know, there has been a heat wave here too, but I hope with the rain we have turned the corner and cooler weather will prevail....we get the condensation too...but not the 118 F.... stay cool, nap and craft as much as you can.... things will get better soon!!! I'll ask the fairies to come pay you a visit!!!!! :) :) :)
Blue skies here but very humid..I had to mop myself off the floor a couple times these past two days Ha! My flowers need water everyday.
Molly had her little girl this mornig. Hopt to have a picture for tomorrow.
Stay cool.. Love Aunt Elaine
Ok, I totally get the Geneva in June, but stop by today and see Geneva in August. Pretty drippie and muggie here now...te-he...
I didn't know those were called "moss roses". They are quite popular here, and are at their best during summertime under the sun! I now understand why :-)
If only I could send you some water over for you to refresh. It's been raining here every afternoon!!
have a great weekend!
I knew that first picture was too beautiful of a sky to be Kuwait! UGH!! I saw that Kuwait sky and wonder if I am going to be in for more of the same in Doha. I know the tmeperatures are crazy high and the humidity is oppressive, but maybe we won't have as much dust there. I don't know exactly what to expect yet, but I am not keeping my hopes high for blue skies and nice temperatures.
Jingles looks SO happy to have you and the boys back. Get your rest and listen to that body of yours. The jet lag can't go on for too much longer. Until it is over, try to enjoy your quiet days and craft time before it is time to get back to reality at AIS!
Looking forward to visiting again tomorrow!
Love,
Renee
Your moss roses are so, so sweet. What a difference in weather. Take advantage of rest when you can before work starts. Have a wonderful evening.

Hello, Tammy! It's so nice to meet you. My goodness you live in a different world over there!
Yes, it's difficult to remain positive, but it does make things a little better.
I'll visit again. I hope you get some rest :)
G'evening!
... I'm so tickled to see you stopped by "my place" and left your smile! Already, I'm intrigued by your blog ...please remind me to shut up when I start complaining about the heat in Phoenix - lol!
I look forward to getting to know you better!
Myra
Oh my gosh- 118 and humid!- that makes Kansas seem practically balmy. Hope your able to take a cue from Jingles and get back on schedule soon. Take good care, Beth
Jingles has it all figured out!
Whew, I'm sending you cooling winds and a comfy bed to slumber in.
(I should probably not tell you that it was 48 degrees this morning at 6am, should I?) :(

Oh, Tammy. I couldn't bear the intense heat and humidity of Kuwait. I'd RUN to the nearest air-conditioned room.
Bet you missed Jingles, though. She's a darling cat. (Or is it a he?) Just beautiful.
Well, try to keep cool! Susan
Kind of a rude awakening coming back here after such beautiful weather. Don't worry, we'll be seeing it sometime in December/January. Seriously, you could sit outside in the humidity for 5 minutes and probally drop 5lbs of water weight. It took me a few days to get on track but Im having restless sleep and having nasal problems. I'll check it out at my next appointment. Apparently, I've been snoring away more than usual...LOL! And my ears are still feeling a bit clogged. Just called you and you didn't answer. Then I read your blog here and figured you must be having your midday snooze. Snooze away, don't fight it. Your body will eventually regulate itself.
Wow Tammy, I can't imagine that sort of heat! Reminds me to quit complaining about our Texas Summers.
That Jingles is such a doll!
Glad you made it back home safe and sound. :-)
Have a wonderful weekend!
Hugs,
Anne
We've beem complaining about our heat, but after reading your post I guess we should remember it's not so bad. So glad you stopped by today at Buttermilk Cottage and hope you'll come back often.
Your home is so beautiful! :)
TAMMY, I HOPE YOU GET CAUGHT UP ON YOUR SLEEP SOON. IT'S NO FUN BEING TIRED ALL THE TIME. I ALSO THOUGHT IT WAS A DRY HEAT THERE. I AM SURPRISED AT HOW MUCH HUMIDTY YOU HAVE THERE. AND THE HEAT MUST BE TERRIBLE. AND I COMPLAIN WHEN WE HIT 100. EVEN THOUGH I HAVE LIVED HERE IN FLORIDA NOW FOR 34 YEARS, I STILL HAVE TROUBLE GETTING USED TO THE HEAT. AND THIS HAS BEEN A VERY HOT SUMMER.
HOPE YOU ARE FEELING BETTER AND STAYING HEALTHY.
GOD BLESS LOVE KAY
