Just in Time and Never too Late

I have a bad habit of letting gift certificates expire. In April, when a friend and I attended a benefit dinner for Animal Friend's League, she won a 25-KD gift certificate to a local furniture store.

Since she lives in Lebanon, she gave it to me. Last week, just two days before it was to expire, I finally put it to use.

(I also got a toilet brush in a silver plated canister but won't take a picture of that. :) All the small things will be used or gifted. The pitcher now holds flowers ...

and the basket is filled with yarn.

I also finally got these black and white photos framed that I bought from a photographer in December -- better late than never. Now I just gotta figure out where to hang them.

The kids are officially finished with school. It's the weekend for which I am always grateful. Time to craft and play. Hope you are having a happy, productive kinda day in your corner of the world.
Peace & blessings, Tammy

She is right, do not get this women a gift certificate unless its for a craft store like Micheals. I can't imagine you letting that one pass. I do believe you have a gift certifcate for some store at 360. I believe they have a big sale now and it would be a good time to use it. If not, give it to Karen. She just bought 450kd worth of items for 133kd. Apparently it is a very high end store and well known in the States. Can't remember the name. Everything she bought was even cheaper than what she would get in the States.
The kids must be happy to be able to sleep in. The weather is very nice....hot...but pretty clear. I am feeling a bit under the weather today. Have a slight cold and am feeling a bit more tired than usual today. But, it will be a bit busy. Need to take Muny shopping as she is going to a Bridal Shower. Enjoy your crafting and I want to exactly know what kind of play you have in mind;)

Hi Tammy! Looks like you picked up so pretty and practical items! Like the pitcher and it is a nice color you don't see often (hope it's not my monitor?lol) That's a great basket too and looks like you are set to do some knitting! I am in the mood to knit but its too darn hot and humid!!! I usually forget about gift certs too or I don't use the full amount and am left with $1.00 on them!lol I was thinking the same thing too about tying the curtains back during the day! They are really getting to me blocking the whole window!lol I'm sure the kids are happy school is done; hope they don't get bored the first week like my daughter used to!lol Enjoy your weekend - Sincerely, Jeannette

I too seem to wait to the last minute to use my gift certificates. I guess I wait to make sure that is what I really want. Glad to see I'm not alone.

You've purchased some beautiful things! I love the pretty saucers!

My kids still have 3 weeks of school - we are ALWAYS the last to get out. Oh well... the house will be quiet for a little longer, because once they're all home this place is a whirlwind (which I do LOVE)! ;)

Happy weekend!

Hi Tammy. Hope YOU have a great day, and weekend, too. I'm just the opposite of you. The instant a gift certificate hits my hand, it's a goner. I'm out the door and in my car, enroute to the store. ha! Take care. Sincerely, Susan

How funny that you had to force yourself to go buy a few things for yourself because your gift certificate is going to expire. Your purchases were simple, yet nice. I love what you did with the flowers in the pitcher, and the yarn in the basket.
Hope you find lots of time for crafting and relaxing this weekend. Our first day off from school was a busy one. I am getting ready to go hit the treadmill while Omar takes the boys to the neighborhood pool. After that, a quiet night at home. LOVE IT!!

Love,
Renee

Oh what a great way to use your G.C. The pitcher and basket are both wonderful! Have fun crafting! I am actually going to try and make more things for the show tonight after Max's ballgame. I did o.k. today and want to fill some spots, it was really pretty fun! Have a great weekend, Theresa

Tammy,
You did good girl, it's funny the stuff you find there looks like our stuff here! I was trying to catch up with your posts, looking for something about you returning to the US. Are you coming back to stay, or just a visit? How long since you've been here? BTW, always love your banners. I know I tell you that all the time, but they are like a little narrative of what your up to. Have a great weekend. Lisa

Glad you were able to use the certificate in time, Tammy! :)
I noticed Lisa's comment above, and I have wondered the same thing. Do you have any plans to visit or return to the States?
Hope your weekend is full of good times!
Hugs,
Zuzu

I hope you are enjoying the summer break. I like your pitcher with the flowers. Isn't it fun to shop with a GC. I think you mentioned you were heading for the states for a break.

We are having hot & humid weather here in MO. I worked outside in the flowers early this morning but it is in to the AC for the afternoon. Stella

Hi Tammy
Isn't it strange how we often leave gift vouchers to the last minute before purchasing something....I do that too.
Love the black and white photos, they will make a great wall display. My hall wall is lined with photos of my travels and seeing them every day takes me back in time. :)

It is cold and wet in Sydney, Australia so I am looking forward to spending 6 weeks in the USA from 2 July. Wouldn't it be amazing if we bumped into each other!

Take care always

At least the $$$ doesn't burn a hole in your pocket like me. I like your purchases. I love square baskets - I like how they fit better. Have a great weekend, too. Diane
