Around our Neighborhood

The other evening as the sun was setting, you could see the haze in the sky. It was starting even then. Days of dust are back.

Zack asked me to take a walk with him Saturday nite so we strolled around our area.

This huge group of cactus caught my attention.

Only a couple of blooms and a busy little bee inside doing his busy bee work. Zack ran -- he hates bees and wasps but, for some reason, they seem to love him. Mosquitoes too!

This is our walking path. May not look like much to some, but it has grass.

And trees that droop to the ground.

I like to imagine I am someplace else when I am walking. Look at this water fountain along the path. I could be in Paris or Italy.

This house is quite grand. I can pretend I am on a historical walking tour in a faraway land. Ironic, since I am the one who actually is already in a land far away from "home".

Doorways. I just love doorways. Everywhere I go, I am always taking pictures of doors.

Hope your week has gotten off to a great start. The angels have whispered and I am off to create! PEACE & BLESSINGS, Tammy

Hello Tammy, what beautiful doorways! SO true about going for walks... it is always nice to stop and enjoy the moment when we can get so caught up in what we are doing in our homes etc.

Have a great week! xo Heather

What a lovely evening stroll you had. I can imagine how you miss the gardens and grounds of the U.S. But, you do have some very interesting buildings to look at. So, you are always welcome for a glass of lemonade in my garden this summer.

I totally get the whole comment thing you were talking about. She does play games, which I don't like. I can tell she comes to visit more than once a day. I think it's just to hop her name up on my Blog Frog. Creative Breathing is doing the same thing. I do try to make the rounds to all my followers as much as possible. And try to leave a comment when I can. At least, say Hi every now and then.

Off get the planters back outside. I think we are finally done with the possiblity of frost.

Have a great week and be sure and stop by later, as I think I my reveal S in H. If not this afternoon, by tomorrow for sure. As I'm on to my next project.

Your quote at the end makes me cry. That's how I immensely feel about my lunchtime cemetery walks. I love that time - I crave it, I need it!!

Thanks for the tour around your neighborhood. It's interesting because it's entirely different than anything I have ever seen. Though I must tell you, there are many times even here "at home" that I don't feel so much so - I miss where I grew up near Chicago and I often feel like an alien in downstate Illinois, even though I've lived here 14 years this summer.

Your post today is nostalgic and beautiful. I love the quote especially and the beautiful cactus flower (with bee). Have a lovely day, Tammy.

I misnamed the eagles. They're actually osprey. Red face!!! Diane

Isn't it amazing that even cactus has beautiful flowers. You have some very interesting scenery for your walk. My father was in the army so spent much of my life in other places. Every place you go has it's own unique beauty. Enjoy your week and thanks for coming by to see me. Stella

I think it looks like a lovely place to walk. Sand on one side, grass on the other and plant life. And of course Zack as a walking partner, who could ask for more. I can just see Zack flipping out over the bee. Ha! I have not been walking in a while... tsk, tsk... I know, But I have been on the gazelle.

Hi Tammy,
I enjoyed sharing your walk. I walk every day along the 'Downs'. These are cliff gardens high above the sea. I love that every day even on the same walk it can look so different.
Take care and smiles always,
Angela.

I thoroughly enjoyed taking a walk with you and getting a glimpse of what you see in your part of the world. I also like the quote you used. I will think of it now every time I go for a walk.

Hi Tammy,

What lovely photos you took on your walk ~ all looks so beautiful. I especially like the door and the architecture of that building.
You do see so much more, smell and hear things when out walking.

Have a great week

YEA!!I am happy to know you got out for a walk, even if it was a bit dusty and hazy. I have to say that a lot of the pictures you took look really familiar. It brings back nice memories to see them.

I loved your quote about how angels whisper to you when you are walking. Maybe that is why I love to walk so much. I always come back in a better mood than I was when I left. I swear, taking a walk is one of my very favorite simple pleasures in life. I know you like them too, so I have routes picked out already for this summer.

Phoebe had one of her eggs hatch yesterday on Mother's Day. How cool is that??? I am waiting for the other little egg to crack.

Hope you having a great Tuesday!!

Love ya,
Renee

Tammy - love the walk with you and Zack. Love the cactus - and especially love the doors. I am a door crazy person. I took pictures of doors all over Europe on our last trip! I take pictures of doors every where I go! (thought I was the only person obsessed with that~~~)

Hi Tammy!
What a sweatheart Zack is to take his Mom out for an evening walk! My mind zips back to times spent walking and talking with my son... he is a grown man now, married and living in Japan. I do not get to see him very often anymore, but memories of time spent together and his wonderful hugs stay right here with me in my heart. :)
I hope you and your family have a wonderful week!
Hugs,
Zuzu
