Soul Therapy

Then God said, "Let the land burst forth with every sort of grass and seed-bearing plant. And let there be trees that grow seed-bearing fruit. The seeds will then produce the kinds of plants and trees from which they came." And so it was. The land was filled with seed-bearing plants and trees, and their seeds produced plants and trees of like kind. And God saw that it was good.

In this light, my spirit saw through all things
and into all creatures,
and I recognized God in grass and plants.
-Jacob Boehme (1575-1624)

Plants cry their gratitude for the sun in green joy. ~Astrid Alauda

The kiss of the sun for pardon
The song of the birds for mirth
You are nearer God's heart in a garden
Than anywhere else on earth.
-Dorothy Frances Gurney (1858-1932), "God's Garden"

All these photos were taken at the plant souk yesterday. It just makes me so happy to see so many plants in one place. While I was at school on Thursday, Sheryll sent news that one of the little kittens had died. The vet said it was because of a respiratory infection.

His name was Pickles and he was one of the ginger-colored kittens. I'm not sure which one this in the photo, but they are all truly precious. May your day be filled with simple joys and blessings, Tammy

I almost went with my husband out to Souk Jema (sp)yesterday but we got lazy and just enjoyed our time home. Those plants look divine and Im thinking I should go out there to get some.
Poor little kitten has come to the end of his journey but at least he was loved and taken care of. Bless Sheryl's heart.
Had a nice day out at PF Changs with Karen and Andy and my daughter and also got some window shopping in. It's too easy to spend a day there without realizing the time...goes by too quickly. Happy Mother's Day to you and wishing you a blessed day.

Tammy, I've just found your blog. Beautiful photos - were they taken in Kuwait?
The little kittens are so vulnerable aren't they.
I've subscribed but I'll come back soon and read your older posts - all very interesting.
I live on the other side of the world too - please visit my blog, only started 2 weeks ago, so not a lot to see yet. I must discipline myself to post today!
Thank you for sharing.

I'm so sorry about the little kitten, Tammy. Poor little things, even with all of your wonderful help I'm sure this world is a hard place without mommy. Your plant blog is so pretty - and green. Happy Mother's Day (You celebrated yours last week didn't you?) Diane

Hi Tammy
It has been way too long since I last popped over to your blog, but you have often been in my thoughts. A friend of mine has just returned from Jordan and had the best holiday EVER. She particularly fell in love with Petra.
So I have promised myself I will go there one day. You have inspired me as well with previous posts and photos.

Love the title of this post.."Soul Therapy" because that is exactly what plants do for me. They warm my soul.

Take care and have a great week.
Hugs

Tammy,
Beautiful post, love the scripture you chose to accompany the photo on top. Your new header is an eye popper, love that sepia. I got very behind in my blog visits & had to catch up with your WW & others. Gotta tell you, your craft table looks a lot like mine! I had to zoom in on the photo so I could see what goodies your using. I hope you have a super duper Mother's Day! Lisa

You finally made it to the plant souk. YEA!! You have been talking about wanting to go for a while now. I can certainly understand why you like to go there. It is wonderful. I hope you found some nice plants to bring home to dress up the porch. Tell Jingles to keep her paws off your new plants.
So sorry to hear about the little kitten. I know how attached you are to them, even though you don't get to spend as much time with them as you would like.

We just got back from the coast. I have SO much laundry to do; at least 7 loads... We came back and my peach flowering hibiscus tree was blooming for the first time ever. What a lovely surprise. Coming home was nice enough, but pretty flowers makes it even better.

Hope your boys took good care of you today!

Love,
Renee
