Sunday Salutations

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I heard on the news earlier that New Jersey and surrounding states are having some awful weather with high winds and flooding which have caused power outages. There was an earthquake in Japan that rocked Tokyo but didn't cause any damage. Crazy weather these days. We are having sunny days, temperatures close to 90 but thankfully no dust! Yesterday I took my good friend Leslie out for a birthday lunch.

We went to the same place that my friends had taken me to the week before. Leslie hadn't been there yet, so I decided to treat her since her birthday was on Friday.

Our food was absolutely delicious and dessert was the best. White chocolate ginger cheesecake with a caramel sauce. YUMMO!

For those still experiencing snow or bad weather, thought I would share more pictures from the National Botanical Garden in Sri Lanka. Enjoy! Peace & Blessings, Tammy

The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature. I firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles. Oh, that cheesecake--YUM! Sounds like a lovely lunch with your friend--I'll be doing the same thing in a couple of days with my birthday friend!

Your photo memories from Sri Lanka are so wonderful to see--so glad you're sharing them with us!

And that quote from Anne Frank--so lovely--and sad...such an uplifting quote from a young girl who was unable to do that very thing...

Hope you're having a beautiful Sunday!

I AM TAKING ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS OUT THURS. FOR HER BIRTHDAY. I LOVE SHARING LUNCH ON FRIENDS BIRTHDAYS. WE HAVE DONE THIS NOW FOR OVER 13 YEARS. SHE USED TO WORK AT BEALL'S WITH ME. I MET HER 2 YEARS BEFORE I STARTED WORKING THERE. SHE GETS TO PICK THE PLACE. SO I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE WE ARE GOING. SHE ALWAYS MANAGES TO SURPRISE ME ON WHERE SHE WANTS TO GO. ALWAYS A DIFFERENT PLACE EVERY YEAR. SAME GOES FOR MY BIRTHDAY WITH PAT. I LOVE MY FRIENDS AND CHERISH EACH AND EVERYONE OF THEM.
HAVE A GREAT SUN. LOVE KAY

Thanks for the photos of the botanical garden, Tammy. Needed them here in Massachusetts as today is cold, gray, and rainy. But the garden was lovely! Sincerely, Susan

P.S. Tammy, so sorry to be a pain but I cannot find the March 20th, 2009 post on how you got to Kuwait. Could you possibly tell me how to find it? Thanks. Sincerely, Susan, writingstraightfromtheheart@gmail.com

It sure looks like you had a nice lunch with Leslie. I wish I had met her. She looks like a really nice lady. I am glad you have met nice people at your job that can appreciate good food and cheesecake! Ha!
We have not hit 90 yet, but we were in the 80s a number of days last week. The trees are starting to flower, and new leaves everywhere. Today, the first official day of spring break, and we have clouds and forecasted rain. What to do.
Hope you are having a great Monday!!

Love,
Renee

Weather is crazy indeed! It's been summer-like here: sunny, a little refreshing wind, blue skies...just wonderful! Aren't us with some sun just lucky? ;-)
Lovely pictures! Tropical nature is fantastic, wouldn't you say? And though not tropical, that dessert picture was...amazing! I bet it tasted just as good.
have a lovely day!
