Last nite, from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm it was lights out.
We lit candles
one by one
and did our part to raise awareness for the need to conserve energy. I wonder how many families here actually participated. Conservation does not seem to be at the top of anyone's list.
But we can do our part. One person can make a difference.

What a wonderful post Tammy.... A lot of people just think refuse dissappears after it is collected & many don't give a thought to natural resourses.
Palm Sunday Blessings!

Hi Tammy,
My husband and I participated in earth hour last night. We turned off the lights and lit some candles too. Your quote at the end sums up why we participated too.
Jane
I so know about Earth Hour when home. Not a peep about it down here in Florida. Icks....
I do one when I get back home, oh, well.
Happy Peaceful Sunday,
Kate
Very nice post, Tammy. I like your lighted pictures with the pretty candles. Have a blessed Sunday. Diane
Sweet post, just like you, sweet Tammy. Love your quote. I think it something wonderful, all over the globe people share in conservation for an hour. Made me think of all the lovely blog ladies all over the world!
Have a happy rest of your weekend, sweet Tammy! xo
Unfortunately, I found out about it right when it was happening and we were just finishing dinner. We did do our best but since the kids were getting around cleaning and getting ready for bed, it didn't work out as well. My father was always making sure we turned off lights as we left a room but it seems harder to teach the kids as they are always in and out in and out. Again, you always find the best quotes to sum up every situation. More "power" to you.
And I completely forgot about this. Good for you, Tammy!

We participated! Your pictures of the candles are just lovely.
Great idea.. I haven't burned candles in a while. Tonight I will lite them and turn out the lights!
Blessings always to my fave cousin!xoxoxox
We always conserve energy at our house. Our darn electric bill is too expensive not too. We use very few lights at night. Not that we walk around in the dark or anything. Just consciously turning lights out when they aren't needed. And who doesn't love candle light. It's so pretty!
Thoughtful post...and I love the photos of your little ones by candlelight!
I'll try a second post. First one didn't go through.
The weather here in Arizona was so beautiful last evening. My DH and I ate dinner by candle light out on the patio. I love your candlelit photos.
That's a great thing to participate in. Like that ending quote.
What a wonderful post. You have a wonderful way of making your activities and thoughts come together on "paper". Really enjoyable to read today!
Thanks,
Renee
