Earth Hour

Our school signed up to actively participate in Earth Hour and encouraged its students to do the same.
Last nite, from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm it was lights out.

We lit candles

one by one

and did our part to raise awareness for the need to conserve energy. I wonder how many families here actually participated. Conservation does not seem to be at the top of anyone's list.

But we can do our part. One person can make a difference.
I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do. ~Edward Everett Hale

What a wonderful post Tammy.... A lot of people just think refuse dissappears after it is collected & many don't give a thought to natural resourses.
Palm Sunday Blessings!

Hi Tammy,
My husband and I participated in earth hour last night. We turned off the lights and lit some candles too. Your quote at the end sums up why we participated too.

I do one when I get back home, oh, well.

Sweet post, just like you, sweet Tammy. Love your quote. I think it something wonderful, all over the globe people share in conservation for an hour. Made me think of all the lovely blog ladies all over the world!
Have a happy rest of your weekend, sweet Tammy! xo

Unfortunately, I found out about it right when it was happening and we were just finishing dinner. We did do our best but since the kids were getting around cleaning and getting ready for bed, it didn't work out as well. My father was always making sure we turned off lights as we left a room but it seems harder to teach the kids as they are always in and out in and out. Again, you always find the best quotes to sum up every situation. More "power" to you.

We always conserve energy at our house. Our darn electric bill is too expensive not too. We use very few lights at night. Not that we walk around in the dark or anything. Just consciously turning lights out when they aren't needed. And who doesn't love candle light. It's so pretty!

I'll try a second post. First one didn't go through.
The weather here in Arizona was so beautiful last evening. My DH and I ate dinner by candle light out on the patio. I love your candlelit photos.

What a wonderful post. You have a wonderful way of making your activities and thoughts come together on "paper". Really enjoyable to read today!

Thanks,
Renee
