Over and Done!

I had put it off long enough ...

I told the technician that I felt like she was making a panini. HA!
*********
Lately I've heard so many stories, from here and from the States, of folks being misdiagnosed, especially for cancer. When they are properly diagnosed, it's almost too late. Apparently I have two "echofree fibrocysts" on the right side and some calcification on the left. My cycles are off big time and heart disease is rampant on my dad's side of the family, so Saturday I will do a blood test to check my hormone levels, cholesterol and sugar. It's certainly much better to be certain than to think what if?

Hello Tammy...It's always better to prevent than lament. Good luck with the mammogram. I hate those things but cancer would be far worse. Take care. Susan

HA! I told my tech that it was like origami..lol
Calcification is usually nothing...the odds are in your favor...you'll be fine. Welcome to the world of "amusement ride" cycles...It's just part of being a women and all the "special" test we have to do, but it's better than thinking "what if"....

thinking of you,

Are you old enough to be entering peri-menopause? That would explain the off periods. Good to get y9our blood tested - that'll tell you about your hormone stage. I'm pretty cysty myself...both in one boob and on one ovary. But, they are the harmless ones. I trust yours are the same.

GOOD GIRL!!!!!!!! I am very happy to know that you went to the doctor. Did you get a check up to, or just the mammo. Ironic that i read this, as I made an appointment for my mammo today. HA! My soul sister who really does think just like I do sometimes...
I know your sugar and cholesterol are fine. If nothing, I am expecting your horomones to be showing sign of pre menopause. No problem. It could be a lot worse.

Thanks for going to the doctor. Now I don't need to worry about you!!

XOXOXO

Love,
Renee

Hi Tammy,

Something that you can't put off and yes, it is good when it is over. You do feel like the cartoon Lady.
I had a biopsy, a while ago, because of calcifications, but proved to be nothing.
I think it is quite common from breast feeding.
Thinking of you and good luck

I think the worst part is the waiting for the results after you have your mammogram. Blessings. Hope everything comes out well. You have a great group of supporters here. Hugs, Diane

Hi, Tammy,
Your cartoon is so funny, and that is exactly how I feel after I have had a mammogram. I am glad you are taking care of yourself, and I hope all of your tests turn out well. Have a happy rest of the week, dear friend. Blessings to you! Vicki

Early here Tammy, Catching up on past posts. I lingered slowly over the post about tea. It was just wonderful, and I could picture it so clearly. The bazzarr photos bring to mind the beautiful cranberry colored glass tea set my mother brought back from our days in Turkey. Loved your upcycle containers, a bit of crafting does the heart good! I hope your dusty season is almost gone. Have a good weekend ahead! Elizabeth

Haven't had that experience yet, but it's right around the corner. Hope everything goes well with the final analysis of the results.

I agree: constantly questioning and wondering is not a good thing, physically (on time treatment) or mentally (stress), so I think it's a good idea that you run some tests. My prayers with you! for a good result.
have a good day!

Funny cartoon :)

My annual gynecologist appointment is the ONLY doctor appointment I stick to on schedule. Otherwise, I shun the doctors office. I've been having an annual mammogram since 40 even though no history in our family and it's always the same result - normal. Funny thing is I remember my friends always saying how painful this procedure is, especially for a more-endowed woman, but it's never bothered me. It's over with so quickly and my comparison to all procedures always involve birth - In otherwords, if it's nothing close to the pain of giving birth, then it's no big deal and I easily handle it. ;)

A smart women you are to take your health issues seriously. I wish men could be the same way. Now that I'm 40, I think I will go in this Saturday to get a full checkup since I havent had since the baby. Never hurts to be careful. We have only one body and no one will take care of itself but ourself. I'm sure everything is probally the normal flucuatioons that women our age is to expect, so when it starts happening to me, I know who to turn to for advice. Waiting to hear the results.
