White Wednesday and Thankfulness

White Wednesday Wishes to one and all. I thought I would share these pictures of the white camels at Failaka Island. We went several years ago with friends.

This is Zack petting the baby camel. He also thought he was playing with rocks in the sand but it turned out to be dehydrated camel poo. Zack has a history of doing stuff like that. HA!

Isn't this the sweetest face you've ever seen.

Dear sweet Dee Dee in Forth Worth TX http://deedeescraftspot.blogspot.com/ posted this friendship award for me on her blog today. She is such a sweetie and is always up to some sort of crafting so go on over and visit her.

THANKS DEE DEE! I am thankful for all the blogging friends I've made and all the creative inspiration they provide. I am thankful for yarn and that my cousin, Peggy, taught me to crochet when I was about 19. It is something that has kept me busy and sane. It's so easy to carry with you and so many wonderful things can be made from yarn.

I love the pictures of your son with the white camels..that's not something you are going to see in Missouri!!
Beautiful crochet projects. Crocheting is something that I never learned. I took a knitting/crocheting class in high school one semester and the teacher could never figure out how to teach me to crochet because I am left handed. I did knit up a storm that semester! I don't think I have knitted since.

Hi Tammy! That is too funny about your son finding the "special" rocks.I am sure my son Zach would have probably done the same!
Those camels are beautiful! And you are going to town on your knitting! Those little bags are darling. I have been meaning to ask, how you ended up in Kuwait? Is that rude of me to ask?

Hi Tammy,
unusual and lovely WW post. Those white camels are so cute. Thank you for letting us into your life in Kuwait. It is always so nice to have blogging friends who open up doors leading to so many beautiful places.
wow you did a whole lot of crochet projects. love your purses. My granny taught me how to crochet when I was about 6 years of age and now and then I go back to crocheting. one of these days I'll post a lovely cap I made for my teenage daughter who, of course, never wore it once.
As i'm more of a nightingale rather than a morning lark I'll start working on my WW right now, but wanted to drop by your blog before setting to work!!!
Good night dear friend!

Hi Tammy,

Thanks for stopping by, it's always nice to hear from you! Yes everyone is feeling better here at my house now. Thanks for your concern and prayers for my sister too:)

My sister and I have always had a very strong bond. It's been really hard to have her living so far away, especially now when she needs me now more than ever.

I'm trying very hard to stay positive and I'm so glad I came to visit you tonight because I read back through some of your posts and enjoyed reading all your uplifting poems and quotes:) Just what I needed!

I also noticed how happy you and all your gal pals look in your pics. You all look like you would be great fun to hang out with!

Now about your WW post... I don't believe I have ever seen a white camel before, they kinda remind me of a Llama and look very soft too.

Your little crochet purses are cute too. I've tried lots of different crafty things, but have yet to try crocheting or knitting...
I guess I've always thought it looked too hard! Oh well maybe I learn how to someday!

Hugs,
Sherri:)

Hi, Tammy,
Those camels are so cute!! Congratulations on your friendship award! You are indeed a sweet and kind friend to all. I love all the bags you are crocheting. I don't know how to crochet, but I have watched my sister, and it seems like it would be very relaxing. I may have to give it a try one of these days! Have a happy week, dear friend and enjoy your creative projects! Vicki

I want to know where you got the first picture from since its the same as Mona's xstitch. I still want it!! I think its cute how everyone on here is so enthralled with all the "new" and "cultural" history they are finding here on your blog. For me its just another camel:D Now that I have xstitching down, you will have to teach me how to do crocheting. That ought to be fun. It couldn't be harder than xstitching.....could it? Lovely baby gift basket. You always do such nicely coordinated gifts.

ewww Camel Poo! (laughing)
Girl, I have totally missed you while I was gone all last week! I brought my laptop but I had ZERO time to play and check in...I've spent 30 minutes this morning reading all that I missed here!
Love your "green" balconies, Kuwait really is beautiful though. I love the way you capture the sunrises and the sunsets.
I love all of your craft finds. I wish we had more little craft bazaars here. I'm always on the hunt for new ideas. I wish I could play with yarn. Someone needs to teach me how to crochet. I can't follow a book, I need to SEE it being done! I'm pitiful ;)
Elizabeth's birthday was beautiful! You girls made it so special...she's one lucky friend.
I'm so glad I'm back and caught up with you. Now I'll be hoping to play in a White Wednesday with ya'll soon ;)

Ha !! Zack is so funny! Did he freak out when you told him what they were? Those white camels are precious, were they friendly? well, I guess they were as Zack was petting them. Loving all your cute little crocheted purses. That first crocheted piece with the stripes... you did that? You are going to have to surely show me your tips and tricks when you come next time. Ta for now!! love,Gwen

Precious white camels! I love them and would so love to rub their sweet faces. The baby one looks like a llama or alpaca a little bit. There is a camel farm not too far from here and they send their camel milk soap and other products to the UAE.
