Thankful Thursday

Thanksgiving is now only a week away. There are days when time seems to stand still and then next thing you know, a whole month has passed us by.

Greetings to one and all! I think I sort of dropped the ball on keeping up with my Thankfulness Challenge, so with Thanksgiving only a week away, and the month of November just flying by, I thought I should play some catch up.

I am definitely thankful for my car and the fact that I can drive. My mother has never had a driver's license and has to rely on the kindness of others or her local transit system (which isn't available in all towns across the USA). I don't know what I would do if I couldn't just get in my car and go.

I am so thankful for my bed. There's nothing better than climbing into bed after a long day and snuggling down between the sheets with a comfy pillow for my head. I always Thank God every single nite when I get into bed.

I am very thankful for good weather. Believe me, in Kuwait, the weather isn't often very good. It's so hot most of the year and at times the sandstorms are unbearable. Zack is taking a picture with Flat Stanley out in a sandstorm 2-3 years ago to send back to his friend Omar in San Antonio.

God gave you a gift of 86,400 seconds today. Have you used one to say "thank you?" ~William A. Ward

This morning I had some fun with breakfast for the kids.

A smile costs nothing but gives much. It enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None is so rich or mighty that he cannot get along without it and none is so poor that he cannot be made rich by it. Yet a smile cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away. Some people are too tired to give you a smile. Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give. ~Author Unknown
Wishing you all a wonderful day! Blessings, Tammy

Hi Tammy, Love the breakfast you made for the kids. cute and healthy. I keep telling Ernie I want a car like the one you drove to New York, isn't that the same kind you have? I so agree with having a warm comfy bed to snuggle up in after a long day. Love ya!

Wow that sand storm looks nasty.

Very cute and special breakfast! Sometimes it just takes a few touches with everyday things to tell someone you love them.

So hard to believe that Thanksgiving is a week away. I love what you are thankful for today. I don't know what i would do without my car either. It made me laugh to see Zack with Flat Stanley. HA! Good memories. I still have the "Kuwait" beads that you sent back to me. You can make me breakfast anyday. Hope the boys enjoyed it!!

Have a great Friday!!

Love,
Renee

Hi, Tammy,
Such a beautiful post and such wonderful reminders of the many things we have to be thankful for! I couldn't help but smile at Flat Stanley out in the sandstorm. I did Flat Stanley with my schoolchildren just about every year. We always loved to read the story and then send out our letters to see who all would respond. It was always an exciting day at school when we got Flat Stanley back, and he told us about his adventures. I am wishing for you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving season! Blessings to you, sweet friend! Vicki

Tammy I so enjoyed your wonderful thankful post. I loved the sweet breakfast that your family got today.
I too thank the Lord every night that I have a comfortable place to lay my head. So many on this Earth don't have that luxury. I pray for them too.
Hugs,
June
