Monday Blues and Repurposing

Greetings to one and all. Monday is a busy day around here since Zack has baseball practice immediately after school. When practice ended after 5 pm, I had to take him to adjust his glasses and his backup pair -- somehow basketballs and volleyballs always find their way straight to his face.

I thought I would share with you something blue and items that have been repurposed. This is a wooden blue bed tray that Sam bought some time back. He is always coming home with something.

It has pretty engraving on the top. I just had it propped up for display as I really didn't have any place to put it.

I bought this leather and suede container for storing yarn (I have yarn coming out of every nook and cranny of this place).

So ... I decided to take the tray and place it on top of the yarn container, and voila, I have a nice little side table for the tv room.

Yusef says that when Mother's Day rolls around, he will use the tray to serve me breakfast in bed.

(Sand art from Jordan)

I printed these cards from the giftofkindness website and use them quite often at school to spread a little joy. I place them inside a nice card with quotes or stick them to a little chocolate bar and anonymously spread them around. (I am always grateful for the gift of kindness.)
"The little unremembered acts of kindness and love are the best parts of a person's life." (William Wordsworth)
Best wishes for your Tuesday! Tammy

Hello--hope your Day is coming to a pleasant end. Bill and I spent several hours out blowing leaves and raking up what remains....for now until the wind blows again. Hugs Aunt Elaine

Hello, sweet Tammy,
Enjoy your time taking Zack to ball practice. When my boys grew up and no longer played baseball, I always missed those games so much!! Same was true with band and football games and band competitions. That sand art is amazing. I can never quite figure out how someone does that! I bet you are looking forward to Mother's Day and breakfast in bed on that pretty tray. I know all those who are recipients of your kindness really love it! Have a beautiful week, my friend and thank you for stopping by for a cup of tea at Bunny Cottage! Vicki

Two things that I love to do so much: repurpose and let people know that they are special and appreciated. To recreate the already created and to brighten someone's day - what could be more of a blessing.

Hi Tammy! I love the blue tray! It makes me think of an old table that we got for free from the school when they got new ones and were giving the old ones away. I sanded it down and then painted it blue, added 2 little blue chairs and the children had a nice table to sit at in the corner of the room, where they could do play-doh, painting, etc. I still have that table packed away in the garage. Very nice items you have repurposed!! thanks for all your lovely comments on my posts. It is always a pleasure to see that you have dropped by. hugs, Debby

It's nice that you can display your tray and utilize the space all at the same time. And breakfast in bed...did you get that in writing?...lol

Poor Zack....leave it up to him to get clocked in the head. As always, you manage to find ways of repurposing. Like that new word. You really know how to maximize your space. I will looking forward to see what Yousef makes you for breakfast. Could it be a payback dish for all those vege dishes you've been making him:) Love your kindness cards and I'm sure the people who you work with know it is you who does it. Keep spreading the love baby.
