Plalking at the Beach

In case you are wondering what plalking is ...

it's picking up litter while walking.

One of the reasons I don't go to the beach more often is because I hate seeing garbage strewn all over.  I can't just walk around it or ignore it or walk away, so I wind up finding a bag (there's always plenty) and start filling it up.
Pandemic pollution is everywhere.
I don't understand how people can be so careless and clueless.
If you happened to notice the green container in the photo above, it's a garbage can.  There's plenty along the boardwalk and yet people choose to leave their trash behind.
At first glance, you might think these are all rocks, but the upper right is styrofoam that's been hanging around awhile.
I hate styrofoam.
It breaks down into teeny-tiny balls of microcrap that can never be picked up.
Bottle caps, straws and cigarette butts are also difficult as there are just too many.
The world is always dying and always coming back to life.  Tide and pulse, and with the turn of the tide a touch of mystery.
(Henry Miller, The Wisdom of the Heart)
I remembered to turn my camera to the side for some video today and it looks like it might actually have loaded properly.
Have a good Monday.

Dearest Tammy,
One wonders though if the world will always be coming back to life...
It is incomprehensible how ignorant a lot of people are by leaving such rubbish behind, with a trash container IN SIGHT!
Are they too lazy to walk?! How did they end up at the beach?
Poor birds, fish and God knows what else for having to deal with this.
You are such a dear person for taking it upon you to collect at least some of others' SINS to the world.
Loved your perfect video!
Hugs,
Mariette

BLess your sweet heart Tammy for always cleaning up the messes other people leave behind. I don't understand why they do it either. You live in such a gorgeous spot with a beautiful beach. Do THEY like to see the litter when they visit or do they just expect someone else to pick it up for them? So sad.
Thank you for the short video. It's been SO long since we were able to visit the ocean that it was nice to hear the sounds.
Blessings,
Betsy

You are so good to do your part to clean up wherever you go. I also hate styrofoam. I wish it had never been invented. Still.. your ocean looks clean and clear. Thank goodness for that. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

People will never learn ;/
Whenever we go on a hike, we carry extra bags and pick up litter along our walks. Hoping that we make a tiny dot of difference.

It's heartbreaking to see litter everywhere like this, I can't comprehend it. I too pick up any I see along the beach, we have lots of local people that do the same and they all seem to be of the older generation.

You are so kind to be doing this. It is such a shame that there isn't more respect for the environment. Well done you!

It will always amaze and upset me that people can litter like that without a thought. It has to start with our children. They have to be taught to care. Thanks for helping out my friend. 💕 Kit

Tammy - thanks for plalking! Your efforts really make a difference. I learned a while ago that all those facial products with the microbeads are terrible for our water - they don't really break down, and now they are floating around in our water supply! More microcrap!
