The birds in yesterday's post are called white-eared bulbuls and these photos clearly show why they get their name.
They have been providing entertainment outside my windows all day long.
Made sabanek (spinach fatayer) for lunch today. A very traditional dish that I've only made twice. The first time the dough was too thick and I didn't put enough spinach inside. This time they turned out much better.
Someone must have recommended it but I don't remember who that might have been.
Sunset through the window screen.
Nothing gives life more purpose than the realization that every moment of consciousness is a precious and fragile gift.

Happy Thursday!

Lovely inspiration from your post today, Tammy!
Your spinch dish looks delicious. I really like spinach. I think I read that book too awhile back but can't remember for sure although it looks really familiar.
Take care.
Blessings,
Betsy
Dearest Tammy,
the white-eared bulbuls look cute - I didn't know these birds before. But I like to believe you that it's fun to watch them. The Sabanek look good - inspiring. Found a nice receipe. Unfortunately, my husband doesn't like spinach, but he does eat mangold / Swiss chard. (We grow mangold in our garden). I could make the sabanek for him with mangold and ham and for me with mangold or spinach and sheep cheese / goat cheese :-) Yummie!
Hugs and best wishes from Austria

Dearest Tammy,
WOW, knowing from a Japanese blogger friend that she has White eared bulbuls snacking on the neighbor's persimmon but we don't have them here. You're lucky having such an exotic bird nearby!
Your dish turned out magazine worthy and no doubt tasted good as well.
The writer Ann Voskamp must be from Dutch origin as that is a typical Dutch name...
Enjoy reading it, it looks a warm book about true and valuable things in life.
Hugs,
Mariette
I love spinach, Tammy!
I enjoyed seeing the Bulbuls again. Your meal looks delish. I haven't eaten for 24 hours and have been drinking that horrible purge drink. I hope never to go through this again. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
That is a good quote, Tammy. I too remember someone in Blogland recommending that book some years ago. I'm sure that you'll find it a helpful read.
I love fatiha sabanek but haven't made any since I left Syria I could just eat some now yum.
