The Getaway

Well, I'm back!
My husband had a business trip to Dubai so I tagged along for the weekend.
Even took a day off from school which I never, ever do.
Evidence of the holiday season was everywhere to be found.
We enjoyed having dessert and coffee with friends in cafes.
Eating dinner with a friend from Sri Lanka and Maureen from Daydream Living.

Visited the bookstore in Dubai Mall over and over and over again.
Had a wonderful view from our hotel balcony of Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world.
 And so much more.
It was a great weekend!
The problem is that now I am so far behind with everything!

I hope all is well where you are!

Oh I love that Christmas is everywhere in the world. I had no clue.

Of all the pictures you gave us (and they were all lovely) the one that really sticks out in my head is the Molly Makes with the Owl mitts. I've gotta hunt that down now so I can make those mitts, they are adorable!

Blessings always

Dearest Tammy,
So glad you could tag along and also had a chance for meeting with Maureen again. Oh, that feeling of having to catch up after such a trip I know too well. It is a kind of 'punishment'... But still, I happily accepted that.
Hugs to you,
Mariette

I've heard Dubai is a beautiful, wealthy country - so cool that you got to visit! That bookstore looks so awesome. And the world's tallest building...just WOW. And I thought the Sears Tower (oops, now Willis Tower) here in Chicago looked immense!

Oh my gosh, what a fabulous trip! I"m surprised to see so much Christmas from there. I would have not thought that it was celebrated so much there, but what do I know. Looks like an exciting trip! THe food looks fab. You must have had a great time in the bookstore - don't you love Mollie Makes? Great magazine.

What a nice package of tags you received, but five months? Wow! I think we are spoiled with our mail service!

Have a good week,
