Aim for the moon, that way, even if you miss
you'll still be amongst the stars.
(W. Clement Stone)
There seems to be a theme to my crafting of late and today it was all about stars.
From a sweet little gift bag with a sparkly star ...
to even more stars for hanging using Becca's pattern.
The star theme was sparked by last night's search for the moon.
I missed the Long Night Moon on the 28th but took this photo around 11:30 p.m.
I noticed several other bright lights in the sky so did some research. Turns out that now, during the December solstice, the brightest winter stars are visible, also known as the Winter Circle.
Even more special to this time of year is Jupiter lighting up the evening sky.
I'm not sure if this was Jupiter or a star, but it was the brightest light I could see.
Was very strange how it showed up on zoom.
The new year will be ushered in quietly here.
However you spend this last day of 2012, I hope it is a good one.
Be safe,

Happy New Year Tammy. Your photo of the moon is beautiful. I'll have to see if I can capture the moon with my camera, but I'm guessing you have a special lens. Take care and Happy New Year! Heather

I love stars too - your projects are really cute.
Happy New Year to you in your faraway place!
Happy New Year. The stars are lovely.
Hi Tammy! Love the gift bag with the sparkly stars! I made one star from a gold thread like your silver one with the sparkly pieces in it...wow I thought it was kind of difficult to work with did you? Love your photos! I wonder if it's New Year's already where you are. :-)
I'm hoping to stay awake until at least 9 pm here!
Have a good one Tammy!

Moon and stars...all wonderful in God's creation.
Love your little sparkley stars too.
When my dearest was courting me 52 years ago, he gave me a small 45 record of Frank Sinatra singing "The Nearness of You" The first line in the song is "It's not the pale moon that excites me, thrills or delights me... Oh no, it's just the nearness of you..." Melted my heart back then...and I still the the pale moonlight!!!
The Moon is astonishing! How do you take such pictures? do you have a phototelescope?:)
the crochet bag looks pretty:)
Thank you for leading me to the star pattern. I am just now getting back into crocheting and am thrilled to find simple projects such as these. Have a happy day!
I love your little stars.
I love the moon and celebrate every full moon by lighting a white candle and putting white flowers in my window.
You have the best camera!!! Are you sure it's not a telescopic lens? I took a picture of the moon the other night and finally found my zoom and used it and it still just looked ike a white circle on a black background. Your pictures are awesome.
I love your sweet bag and the stars especially using the sparkly yarn. I started a rock cover last night but I need smaller yarn/thread for the only small hook I own. We'll see how it goes. Happy New Year~
