Flying By

I find it so hard to believe that it's already mid-September.  Time is really flying and there's been little time for blogging or crafting lately.
I'm so busy at work that by the time I get home, I don't want to do much of anything, yet there's always so much to do to prepare for the next day.  Since I like to keep tins of baked goods on my desk at school, I do try to make time for baking at least a couple of times a week.
Bite-sized oatmeal cookies:  1/2 cup butter softened; 1/4 cup brown sugar; 1/4 cup granulated sugar; 3/4 tsp baking powder; 1/2 tsp baking soda; 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon; 1/4 tsp salt; 1/8 tsp ground allspice; 1 egg; 1 tsp vanilla; 3/4 cup flour, 1 cup quick cooking oats; 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips; 1/3 cup dried cranberries.  Drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet and bake til golden.

All the baking makes my boss and co-workers very happy!

Blueberry muffins:  1/4 cup canola oil; 1/2 cup honey; 1/2 cup skimmed milk; 1 egg; 1-1/2 cup whole wheat flour; 2 tsps baking powder; 1/4 tsp salt; 1 TBS lemon juice, lemon zest, 1/2 cup blueberries.

Haven't made much progress on the baby blanket.  The good news is that little Emma Rachel was able to go home a few days ago, so I really need to get this blanket done soon.
The other good news is that I received an email today from Helen Phillips informing me that I won a prize in her recent giveaway.  Her work is so lovely and she always has such pretty things to share on her blog.

I hope you've all had a good week!
Happy weekend wishes,

At least you started with the blanket - I am still at choosing the right colors (in my mind) :)
Have a lovely weekend Tammy!

Congratulations on winning. Your baking will keep things "sweet" where you work, and the blanket is off to a good start.

Dearest Tammy,

Ha ha, I love the way you bribe your boss and co-workers. Bet they all got addicted to your baking and you're stuck with that for life!
You will settle into the new fall schedule and finish that baby blanket. Don't worry, enjoy whatever you are doing; blogging or not.
Hugs to you,
Mariette

Congrats on your winning the give away. That's always fun.

I do a lot of baking too, and give away most of it. Just made 4 loaves of banana date bread. Really moist.

You are one busy woman. I sure like seeing what you're baking, and thanks for the recipes.

Baking even on busy days fills the house with a comfort like no other. The days are flying by all too quickly and I do not know where I have been except outside cleaning up about 5 acres of our property around the house. Horrible drought and high fire danger is a good motivator. Wonderful weekend dear...

Sounds like things are normally busy for you Tammy. I've been a little worried with all the news about your country. Hope all is well and peaceful. As long as you're baking and crocheting all is well. Blessings, Diane

Hope you're enjoying a nice weekend! :)

My life is kind of the opposite in that I seem to have too much time on my hands both at work and at home sometimes. Therefore, I find lots of time for writing, which is one of my #1 priorities in life since I do that for the newspaper and not only the blog.

I get bored very easily and so it's nice that we've had all of these fun weekend (and weekday) activities out of the house lately. We're off to beautiful Southern Illinois today for our annual family reunion. Life is short. Life is good.

Take care,
Linda

Yummy...I so love little bites of things...LOTS of them! LOL! Thanks for the recipes...I'm catching up on your blog so now I see who the blanket is for...what a pretty name.
I want to make those coconut cookies first. They looked delectable!
It must be this time of year...I haven't gone back to work and yet all of a sudden I can't get anything done and the time is going so fast...it must be the cool weather...speeds things up.
