Word Challenge Wednesday

Last week, Tammy at Art and Inspirations started a weekly word challenge.

Her first post contained word scrambles; and this week, the challenge is to write a poem using any of the following words:

hand, bird, bless, sea, wind, sunshine, sky, has, blue, back, tree, fly, sail, little, sing, were, the, at, are, childhood, nature, see, be, believe, sail, lift, boat, have, harbor, shore, big, gray, sit, yellow, window, red, you, we, nest, water, is, leaf, been, swim

I decided to accept the challenge so I wracked my brain for hours and came up with the following poem entitled See, Hear, Believe

When your days seem gray,
as they sometimes do

You must open your eyes
to what's in front of you

Don't forget the many blessings
we are given each day
Little things that are forgotten
when we forget to pray

God's handiwork is seen in a
sky of blue;

in a leaf from a tree

and the sunshine, too.

We can hear His voice in the birds
that sing;
in the winds that blow, in the bells
that ring.

When you see and hear and believe
it to be true.
You will know great joy all
the day through.

It was nice to stretch myself a bit. Writing poems used to come so much easier. My brain really had a workout this evening. So on that note, I am off to bed. Hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday.
Friendship blessings, Tammy

Lovely. I had no idea you wrote prose and poetry. Another wonderful thing to know about you.
I saw this challenge and opted not to participate, since that is not my genre. YOU, however, captured the words so beautifully!

Congrats. And keep creating!

I adore poetry!
You stretched your noggin' just right! I love your sentiments! Well done!
You wanna know something special?
My dear Hubby has been writing me poems every night this week while he is at work! I am swooning! What is it about poems, eh? They make you think, they touch our hearts, they evoke deep emotions and unlock all the passions trapped in our hearts!

Thanks for sharing...you should write more...maybe you have inspired me to get back into it too...well, you and my Hubby! A double whamy!

Ciao Bella!

Oh Tammy you did a fabulous job! I love your poem. I am so glad you participated in the challenge so we could read your touching message. I agree with an earlier comment that you are indeed multi-talented. The images you chose to accompany your poem were perfect.

Thanks for posting the link. I appreciate it.
Hugs to you,
