A Late Lunch

Today has been a cool, crisp, clear day. Blue skies and fluffy clouds that were like big marshmallows in the sky. They seemed so close, as if you could reach right up and grab one.

I dropped the kids at home after school and then went to my friend Shereen's for a late lunch.

Tuna patties with mango chutney and a sweet cucumber yogurt salad, lettuce and tomatoes and spinach rice. Everything was so delicious!

Shereen loves to change up her decor as the months and the seasons change. A touch of green is the present them.

This piece of stitch work that she is made is on display. The entire piece is done in french knots.

Her work is absolutely beautiful. Each piece takes at least 100 hours to complete. I would never finish anything if it took that long.

As the sun was setting on a lovely afternoon.

We enjoyed dessert of sweet milk pudding and green tea.

Such a nice way to start the weekend. I hope you are all having a beautiful day as well.

Shereen surely is a talented (and patient) woman. French Knots? Stunning pieces of work!

Now I'm hungry after looking at what you had for lunch. My muffin pales in comparison!

How pretty the setting, how puffy the clouds, how dear is your friend.

A perfect day for you!

Hugs,
Jan

Dearest Tammy,

Thanks for your visit. The snow and ice are gone, at least here in Dublin (heart of Georgia). Sunny days now but frost at night till -8° C and only 4° C during the day. Below normal of 13° C during the day and 1° C during the night!
But we'll get over it one day... Spring will come again. This proves again all the bogus about global warming!

Your lunch looks like my favorite food too; anything with spinach or tuna will do.

Shereen's French knot embroidery is extraordinary; first time I see that! Very unique and beautiful looking inside that frame. A true treasure that will become a family heirloom!

Lots of love,

Mariette's Back to Basics.

That rice looks delicious! Yum! :o)
What a great to spend an afternoon, and what lovely colors she have chosen for her current decor! Green and beige is what I want to use in a room at home. Then there is a mustard/honey in another room. I want fresh and light to start the year. Summer is coming after all! :o)
have a lovely weekend!

Wow, looks like your friend has a gorgeous home and I've never eaten anything like any of that ~ We're more basic midwestern, meat and potatoes and casseroles, lol.

Thanks for your comment on my blog as well - regarding the driver's ed - here, classroom and behind-the-wheel are featured as part of the normal school day at the high school. The whole thing ends up costing around $40, so convenient and reasonably-priced as well.

Have a nice weekend.

Are you sure you're not really friends with Martha Stewart and just hiding it from us?? This lovely friend of yours really needs to open up a business. I want one of her french knot creations!!! Is she selling them?? They're gorgeous. I have a hard enough time trying to work on something for just a few hours....HA! You're weekend can't go wrong when starting off like that.

What a lovely lunch. I had little doubt that it would be wonderful when I knew you were going to Shereens. She really has the most amazing way of making everything look amazing, from her food to her crafts to her decor. How lovely. I am sure it was a wonderful way to start your weekend.
Her craft projects are truly incredible. As much as I enjoy cross stitching, I am not sure I could do a project that took me so long to finish. Her hard work and patience turned into something very lovely!!

Love,
Renee
