Today I had the pleasure of meeting with an established group of ladies who meet every Tuesday for stitching, fellowship and food.
We met at the lovely home of one of the members where she has some of her beautiful quilts on display.
She includes lots of handstitching in her quilts which is truly amazing.
I never learned to properly sew but have always loved quilts and am in awe of the work put into the making of them.
One of the ladies was tatting which she made look very easy (though it's definitely not).
And one of the members showed off her bird embroidery that took 3-1/2 months to complete.
The angle at which I took the photo came out way too bright so the picture does not do the piece justice.
It was a really enjoyable few hours of time well spent.
(And now I'm hoping some of their talent and creativity will rub off on me.)
Happy Tuesday!

Such a beautiful and well done variety of handwork! A good group of ladies. I'm convince we can knit, seam, stitch, hook our souls back together again when needed in a circle of friends. blessings ~ tanna
Beautiful artwork!
I haven't been into creating for a long time but was recently thinking that I should draw something once again. Maybe... maybe.... I'll start that soon. ;)
Tammy - so glad you found this group to join. A terrific variety of talents - no surprise when women gather together!!! Her quilts are stunning - I especially like the one with the elephants. Happy Wednesday to you!
I think it's wonderful you have such a creative group to spend time with. I wish I had something like that.. perhaps I should start one. Enjoy your nicer weather! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
What a lovely way to spend an afternoon. Those quilts are gorgeous!
Your Tuesdays sound like so much fun, Tammie. A great way to bond with women, share talents, and have some great snacks! Does everyone contribute to the table?
I feel the same way you do about quilting. From blogging, and reading how the process goes, it sounds very comforting to do, but not for the impatient. I love your friend's quilts on her walls.

Wow, those colorful creations are so beautiful !:) How nice to have such meet ups . I am jealous. I should visit you and Mini in Kuwait and enjoy one of such crafty meets, it is not that far from India:)
It all looks amazing Tammy, that I would love to be able to make a quilt but I'm not great at sewing. I'm going to a patchwork group for the first time next Tuesday to see if I can be inspired to sew something apparently they are all very talented ladies so I'm looking forward to it. :) x
These meetings must be inspiring, Tammy. So many beautiful pieces. I tried tatting once and it's not easy indeed.

Hi Tammy, A very nice meeting table looks appetizing, handicrafts are all wonderful, really talented ladies, it was a pleasant time :)
What a wonderful post of beauty in so many things.. art, craft, communion and friendship.. just beautiful, thank you for sharing such a lovely event... xoxo
How nice to have friends that have similar interests as you. I used to have a group of knitting friends but we all got too busy as our children got older. I miss those times of just sitting, chatting and playing with yarn.
Beautiful crafting.
I like looking at all the pieces of artsy work.
The quilts are marvelous. And displayed in
a lovely way.
Happy week-wishes to you!
What a talented group! My own knitting as been sadly neglected lately, as the Winter requires more time spent just getting things done, and then I'm tired. Pleased to say I've managed 31 daily sketches for January, though! On to February, one day at a time. Have you ever done sketching as part of a group? I sometimes think it would be interesting to join one of the Urban Sketcher type outings that seem to be going on all over the world now, but I really cannot be in one position (sitting, standing, any position really) long enough to do that sort of group activity. Looks like fun though!
