Potted Plants

I've never joined in on Michael's Scribble Picnic before, but follow Wanda and Serena who participate weekly.
Today when A Lil' Blog on a Dotty Hill Somewhere popped up in my sidebar, I thought it ironic that the theme is potted plant, since yesterday I doodled that very thing.
I always say I will doodle every day, but never seems to happen.
Since we are on the theme of potted plants, I took some pictures around the house.  Above is a ZZ plant (Zamioculcas Zamifolia).
I have a diary where I do write down notes from my day, anything new I learn, or quotes and inspiration.

Dracaena Fragrans a/k/a a Corn Plant.
A view of some of my potted plants on the outside and avocado leaves on the inside reaching for the sun.

The trees, the flowers, the plants grow in silence.
The stars, the sun, the moon move in silence.
Silence gives us new perspective.
Mother Theresa

Currently listening to the soothing music of Ani Choying Drolma.
Have a peaceful day.

Wonderful potted plant doodles, and a lovely tribute post to the potted plant I might say! Welcome to Scribble Picnic!

It is funny how we think of things and then there they are, right in front of us like you drawing those plants. Nice renditions of your own plants.

Your plants look happy and thriving and your doodle is lovely!

The huge gardener that I am, odd thing perhaps then is that I never liked indoor plants and avoided them for a long time, except people kept giving them to me. I just like a really uncluttered home/work space and you have to have the right lighting for houseplants and our little house only has a couple of windows which work for them and no place to really set them since I don't have much furniture in the house. So anyways.... people kept giving me plants so Jim made some extensions to a couple of the window sills indoors and I have several houseplants that do very well in the southern exposure lighting (and 1 Ivy in the north-facing kitchen window).

Hope you've had a great day.
Linda

It's great to have you join us at #ScribblePicnic. And yes sketching, painting, writing - whatever you like to do - do it every day. Are you in Arizona or Texas? From the look of your plants I am thinking that might be the case. Great sketches and I always love to see what inspires artists.
Blessings,
Janis

That sounds like a fun party to join. I've been wanting to take up watercolors for fun. Now I just need a little more time. Thank goodness there's so much inspiration out there to keep us motivated.

You are so gifted in all of the things that you do. I've always had good intentions of starting a diary or journal but have never followed through with it. It's not a talent of mine at all. The sketches of your house plans are so true to the real life versions. Have a lovely day my friend.
Blessings, Betsy

Beautiful doodles, Tammy! I always say I am going to doodle/journal daily. Usually last about 5 weeks. LOL! Your house plants are so lovely. My mom has a big corn plant in her living room. They always make me think of her. =) You have made such a beautiful home. blessings ~ tanna

Tammy, I'm so happy to see you join us this week for Scribble Picnic...I do hope you will continue. I LOVE your potted plants sketch page....so cheerful! Dracaena Fragrans is one of my favourite potted plants...so hardy and attractive. I had one for many years. Your plants are beautiful!

You are not the only one who says they will doodle every day but doesn't...I'm guilty of that very thing.

Nice, soothing music by Ani Choying Drolma. Another one to add to my YouTube subs.

Have a lovely week. :)

Your doodles are charming, and that mille-fiori wall hanging is exquisite! Is it beadwork?

How lovely to meet you and your plants. That's a wonderful page of doodles. It's been a goal of mine also to do something creative every day, but I'm finding it's not always possible. So glad you joined in.

Nice plants and doodles! I love doodling but just don't find enough time to do. I must sacrifice some stitching and crochet time but even that's very less.

They say retirement is the perfect time to take up something new - so I will stop thinking "I can't draw" and get myself signed up for a class. Thanks for inspiring me!

Dearest Tammy,
Well, decades ago I used to live with lots of potted house plants but lately, all the orchids we bring home, die rather soon.
Guess it is a commercial setup, no room to grow and no soil or whatever and it's all nicely covered up so you find out too late.
Yes, I did grow them in The Netherlands, all windowsills were full with house plants and even from starters we would do this. Passing them on and swapping. Lots of joy but it was the perfect climate!
Not anymore...
Like your area, the relative humidity is not for a plant's hurray.
Enjoyed your post though and we always can add some living green to our living quarters!
Hugs,
Mariette

WOWZERS woman! You can draw...those are far better then doodles!
I always love seeing the little glimpses of your world, it sure is intriguing! I have not a live plant in my house. My calico cat seems to really love chewing on anything green. In fact, my son who is over in your part of the world, sent me Mother's Day flowers. I have wised up and remove all the greenery because the cat will get and find them. Sometimes the flowers too...sigh!

Thanks so much for sharing your doodles and journaling, Tammy! I really enjoyed seeing them and want to explore the links you posted as well. We have guests for a week and we are having a great time. My friend enjoys creating jewelry with beads and we have gone to a local tea shop. Both of us have some coloring projects as well...and a LOT of chatting :-) Wishing you happy days!xx
