Five on Friday at F.A.S.T.

The lovely Amy at Love Made My Home has handed the reigns of Five on Friday over to Carly and Tricky of  F.A.S.T. blog (Family Attempting to Survive the Times).  I've not participated in awhile so figured this was a good time to get back on track with posting.
Yesterday we had lots of wind and dust, but this morning we had wonderful rain showers that washed all the grime away.  In fact, as I'm typing this, the rains have started again.
The plants are always happy to get a free shower.
After the rains, the birds were very active and I was privileged to see a rare sighting in our residential area.
I rushed to grab my good camera and this was the only shot I was able to get before it flew away.  The Hoopoe, known as a Hud-Hud in Arabic, usually prefers to stay on the ground so to spot him in the mulberry tree right in the front yard was quite a nice surprise.
Mulberries are a favorite snack for the sweet little bulbuls.
Birds and plants on a rainy day inspired a little stitching, perfect for this tiny frame that I've had sitting around for many, many years.  Pattern can be found at Makers Society.

Happy Friday!

That Hoopoe is so interesting!! First time I have ever seen one. We've had a good rain this afternoon, too. It was most welcome. The pollen has been so thick the air looks yellow/green. A good rain makes it feel so clean! Have a wonderful weekend, Tammy! blessings ~ tanna

The Hud-Hud is so cute and you succeeded very well! Birds are so difficult to photograph - I don't succeed too often :) Wishing you a lovely weekend!

Love those sweet birds Tammy - you were lucky to get such a great shot of the Hoopoe - which looks a bit like a woodpecker family member? The bulbul is pretty - I love b/w birds.
Know you enjoyed the cleansing rain - we're expecting a little tomorrow but today is perfect, bright and sunny morning going up to low 70's - my kind of weather!

Such a cute little frame for your colorful cactus!

Have a great weekend. - Mary x

How great that you were able to get a photo of the hoopoe. He is a good looking fellow. I also like your photo of the rain drop hanging on the plant. That rain must have been refreshing after the dust and grime.
Your cross stitch looks adorable in that sweet little frame.
Thank you for your kind words on my blog post the other day. Much appreciated!

What an unusual bird and so beautiful. I love the rain too and everything is greening up here fast as we have had the perfect combo...rain and then sun and then more rain and sun! LOL! Your stitchery is darling and I should definitely be attempting smaller projects! Ha! Ha! No wonder I never have any 'finishes'. Enjoy your weekend!
Thanks for the info on Kombucha too...I need to do more research on it.
