True Stashbusting

How is it that yarn bits thrown into a basket manage to find their way to each other and turn themselves into a tangled mess?
I have several of these massive messes and am slowly pulling them apart.
Tying them together and turning them into scrappy, happy surprise balls of yarn.
That get crocheted into stripes and squares for yarnbombing.
However, some bits are destined to be hearts.
Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.

I hate when yarn tangles like that - abhor it to be precise. But my husband is always up for the challenge and often helps me untangle the beasties. I have to try joining them together like you did - I usually leave tiny skeins to make tiny flowers and stuff.

I always roll my leftover bits into little balls right away...but they still end up in an unravelled mess sometimes! I like your idea about making big balls out of combined bits - and I love the little hearts :)
Have a magical weekend, Tammy!

You have me smiling with the visual of little yarn gremlins tangling your yarn pieces while you are away. Great idea to tie them together and wind into a ball and now crochet wonderful pieces for outdoor décor. Love the little hearts. I wonder if they were spread around this earth if it would help people get along?!! Keep crocheting my friend...

You are sOOoooOOOo good at using up all your yarn bits! I have virtually a whole room of yarn I need to use. Which I'm doing little by little. No new yarn! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Untangling a mess of yarn into neat balls is such a satisfying activity. And it inspires one to do something with those balls. Love the little hearts!

I love your yarn bombing scrap squares Tammy, it's great joining all those tiny scraps into a big ball isn't it, I'm enjoying doing that too, I like to see how big a ball I can get my record so far is 400 grams. Love your cute hearts too, thanks for linking and have a great weekend. :) xx

Hi Tammy! I used to have these problems with the threads I used for cross-stitch. And you really have to have a method in this case to keep those colors separate and identifiable for the directions and color codes. I hope to get back to it a bit this winter, I'm having some issues with my glasses and contacts, the prescription is so screwed up I can barely see my computer screen. Anyway, untangling those soft strands sound a little therapeutic to me!

I was looking at your sidebar and all of the incredible places you have travelled to. Is that work or pleasure?

Hi Tammykins....such beautiful project as always. I mess around with a little crochet here and there, but nothing worth noting. I hang the little scraps on the limbs of our lemon tree and the birds come and take them....I'm pretty sure their nests look divine in turquoise.

Your tangled yarn made me giggle. I love your idea of attaching it all together, brilliant! Although--- the thought of a bazillion tiny different colored hearts is a fabulous idea too. I've made a ton of those and added little hair clips and gave them to my granddaughter to pass out to her friends. They are also cute to clip onto Valentines cards... I should probably get cracking on making some more, gosh, Valentines day will be here before you know it lol
big hugs,
Cheryl

Dearest Tammy,
That is so true, yarn rests always get tangled up! Funny behavior but you solved the problem in a very clever way.
Your hearts look so lovely.
Have to catch up on so many things. Got my 2nd Etiquette Class + dinner for Teenagers out of the way. Hard work but very rewarding. We had tea with one of the first group's Mom, together with her daughter and siblings, plus Dad. A delightful afternoon for all.
So I've done my share of baking and cooking. By the way, on Monday I did make your spicy corn and lentil soup once more. It remains a favorite here!
Hugs,
Mariette
