Never Bored

When I decided to quit my job and become a "domestic engineer", so many people told me I would be bored, would have a hard time adjusting, wouldn't know what to do with myself.
In my opinion, we are blessed with so many choices each and every day and should never, ever be bored.  The world offers us free gifts to treasure; there are meetings and new projects to consider; creative pursuits; and quiet, contemplative moments to cherish.

There are openings to attend. Markets to wander. New places to visit.  And friendships to be nurtured.
I am grateful for the opportunity to plan my days as I please; to explore new opportunities and possibilities; and sometimes, to just do nothing at all.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Oh Tammy, I'm with you. Even though I still have part-time job commitments, I can usually arrange my days. That is a huge freedom compared to 9a.m. to 5 p.m. rigidity. Like you, I feel immensely blessed. Enjoy each moment! (I know you do.) Susan

I heartily agree with you, Tammy. Although I'm back at work part time, I'm so glad I have the choice to do this. And when I was at home, there were so many things to do and be involved in. Life is full and rich.

I totally agree with you, Tammy. I stopped working (I was a teacher) ten years ago when I had my first baby. I didn't know whether I'd stay home for good or what, but I ultimately decided to do that and I love it. I am never bored either. I was just thinking about writing a post along these lines myself so thank you for the inspiration, I may do it soon. I'm glad you're finding so much fulfillment in your new daily life.

Good for you. I am not on any time clock right now and I like it. Don't get me wrong, I am far from bored as I am helping several people through some terrible times. I am sure you will fill your calendar with some very fun things.

Tammy
After being a "domestic engineer" for 12 plus years I cannot fathom ever being bored while doing it. There is always something to do or be done...I kinda laugh that people think we sit around and eat bon bons all day! THanks for sharing your world with us!

I'm with you, all the way.... I've been a domestic engineer for several years and I never get bored. There is always something to do. I love being at home.... I actually crave it, at times.

I knew you'd never be bored. My motto is "Only boring people get bored." What I mean by that is I have so many things to do that I can't imagine ever getting bored! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Tammy dear, like most of us 'retired folk' you will soon wonder how you ever had time to go to work outside the home! I find I've been so much busier in my retirement years, but having the time to plan more and take the time to really enjoy life without job constraints is such a blessing. Enjoy your family, home and friends - and you can always go back if you choose to!

Congratulations on your new status as 'domestic engineer. Like me I just know you will never, ever be bored. Life is full of wondrous moments - we just need to grab each one.
Hugs - Mary

You have all the correct reasons why there should never be a bored moment for anyone in this wonderful world we live in! I am never bored...ever! Boredom is for people who are not interested in anyhing and have nothing to offer society. Learning new things every day is wonderful and challenging...

Dearest Tammy,
Oh, like you I know I never ever will get bored; contrary the only problem is that there are not enough hours in a day!
I do know how to write the word bored in seven languages but I don't know how it feels and will never find out.
Whatever you are being told, look at your photos, you look so happy and radiant so enjoy what you chose to do! Lovely crocheting.
Hugs,
Mariette

I love your way of thinking and I too look forward to the years that I'll hopefully have doing as I want. Today, for instance, I would so much rather be here at home in our pretty little yard doing garden work on this pretty fall day than sitting in an office. For the time being, I make the most of all moments or at least I try to, whether I'm here or at work because that's all part of my life right now in this present time. I do have my bored moments though (they're usually when I'm at work). I am an easily bored person, but when I feel that way, I find something else to do to make things interesting. :)

If you are only being counted as a Domestic Engineer you need to put in for a promotion. I am CEO of Household (Domestic Affairs). Of course my pay remains at the level of Trainee Assistant to Third Under Housemaid (paid at 1806 rates), but at least I have a good title!!! I am glad you are enjoying yourself! xx

I am so glad you are enjoying your time now and are able to plan how you spend your days, Tammy. I didn't think you'd be bored because I know you have lots of interests and lovely friends to keep you busy......and I know you also cherish quiet time for contemplation too. So pleased that you can now do these things.

Amen, Tammy! You know I feel the same as you. After three years, I still have people asking me, "what do you do all day?" and "aren't you bored?" Those questions crack me up. I'm so busy most every day, that I wish there were more hours in the day! I am never bored. The world is too interesting of a place to be bored. :-)

Thats is an assumption only people who don't know what to do with themselves can have. I would have never thought you would get bored after quitting your job. Boredom doesn't happen to those who are creative or have other hobbies and interests.

I would love to have a few hours to plan nothing at all, or visit a friend. I love that you are finally getting this much deserved time to yourself.
