Simple Little Pleasures

"After all," Anne had said to Marilla once, "I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens but just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string.”

Happy Friday everyone!
We are having lovely weather and Jingles is taking full advantage of it.
My favorite days of all are those spent at home.
It's hard to feel inspired during the week when days are rushed and there aren't enough hours to get everything done.
But weekends are for relaxing, recharging and finding inspiration in our surroundings.
Wishing you all a beautiful day!

What a lovely passage and how true.
Sometimes we try too hard to enjoy ourselves when all the time we only need to relax a little.
Where on earth do you find all these nuggets of wisdom Tammy?

Hi Tammy,
Your house looks interesting and comfortable. More photos, please. Jingles reminds me of our late kitty. She'd find a way to squeeze herself into any container that was too small for her.

Hello Tammy,
When you are a young working mother, there never seems to be enough time...and even when you are retired, there are endless projects to tempt you..finding time for yourself to craft is so creative and helps restore the balance in our lives. You seem to do a beautiful job of sharing your creativity with us! Jingles looks so comfy!

I gathered rocks from the beach on my visit last year. I brought them home with the intent of learning to crochet around them. Well, first I needed to learn to crochet! Now the rocks live in the garden all naked and shiver-y... Yours are beautiful!

Blessings, Debbie

Hi Tammy,
Well, I wrote one long comment and lost it when an error occurred, so this time I'll try again and be sure to copy and paste in case I lose it again....

Looks like a lovely weekend for you. I too love to spend my time at home, but also I get bored easily and must be out and about, so I'll have a lovely St. Patrick's Day dinner for my family on Saturday and then Jim and I are heading out to a local pub with a friend to listen to music. I would have loved to have traveled up to Chicago for the dying of the river, and all of those festivities, but it's a long drive just for a couple of hours, figuring Jim would have spent 5 hours driving when he has to travel up there again for work on Monday, so we'll be at home this St. Patty's day.

Enjoy the remainder of your weekend. I'm thinking anxiously towards our Spring break which begins on March 29th and hoping against hope for better, WARMER weather by then!!!

That's one of my favourite Anne quotes. How lovely to think of days as pearls slipping off strings. We're planning a quiet weekend at home, too. Enjoy yours.

Dearest Tammy,
Love your humor for capturing your 'potted' cat Jingles!
Does someone take care of her when you travel?
Enjoy your little daily pleasures; that's all what counts.

Mariette

Hi Tammy, what a coincidence that you should have an L M Montgomery quote on your blog. Only this week I have downloaded all the Anne books, for only 77 pence, onto my Kindle. Having never read them before I thought now would be my chance.

I like all your little crocheted owls. Have a lovely weekend. Kathleen.

I recently reread the first two Anne books and adored that line! Thank you for bringing it to mind again. I, too, love being home and having ample time to get things done. Dislike feeling rushed and behind.

I just love the stone covered in yarn. We are having beautiful days here too. I have been out in the yard a lot, and I love it. I enjoy my home too and never get bored as many do when they retire. Hope your weekend is wonderful.

Dear Tammy
I'm happy to hear you're relaxing over your weekend after a busy week at work.
Dear Jingles, in the flower pot, sadly we haven't got any cats now but when we did they always squeezed themselves into pots too - so funny!
Beautiful crochet!

Oh Tammy, how I LOVED the photo of Jingles in the pot. That girl is a kitty cat diva.

You should send that to a cat magazine or, better yet, a gardening magazine. She's the prettiest spring plant I ever saw!

I know what you mean about weekends. I feel like staying inside the WHOLE DAY and luxuriating in being blessedly HOME. Susan

I wholeheartedly agree with your quote and I love Anne of Green Gables. I've read all the books and seen several of the movies. Prince Edward Island is beautiful.
Your yarn goes perfectly with the colors in that stone. Very nice!
