Gifts

Last week our drive to the Frankfurt airport was shrouded in fog which reminded me of the dusty days we get here.
But today, there were only blue skies as I drove home from school.  And my car felt like an oven (it was 118 degrees).
Thankfully, my work day went much smoother than yesterday and was made even nicer by gifts from a friend.
A lovely necklace handmade from enameled copper by Megan Archer who is a jewelry designer in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  You can check out her website here.

And a book that I have heard much about.  One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp.  I'm ready to sit back with a cup of tea, a couple of homemade sugar cookies and start reading.

Hope you are having a great day!

Dearest Tammy,

Oh those foggy days of late summer and fall in The Netherlands or Germany I remember too well. One is always glad to arrive safely at the destination. But you certainly got some heat in your area.
Lovely enameled charm you got and the book sounds like a perfect tea-time read!
Hugs to you,
Mariette

Lovely gifts! 118! Yikes! Our poor little valley is filled with smoke (fires in Idaho) Reminds me of your dust storms. I am hiding out inside with a good book. Enjoy yours! Kit

Wow, 118 that's hot!!!

You will love your new book. I read it last year and I'm up to almost 800 in my own 1000 gift journal. What a difference it has made in my life and attitude.

Fog is dangerous depending on how think it is. You can't drive down here because you could go right off the side of a mountain and they do. Down here drinking and driving is more like suicide. There's always these 1 car accidents but at least they didn't hurt an innocent person except themselves of course. It is pretty though if you're at home. If I get up in the morning and can't see out I wonder if maybe I died and I'm in heaven! LOL!
I can hardly take the heat here so I imagine Kuwait would not be for me. I can walk in 20 below zero but not even the 90's down here much less 100's. Whew...that's hot!
Your plan sounds perfect, a book to read, a cup of tea and some cookies....so relaxing. Take care sweetie!
