It's dark here today.
There are no clouds, no claps of thunder or flashes of lightning.
No sound of rain.
But there's dust.
Lots of dust.
I had to pick Zack up from a friend's at noon.
After we arrived home, the storm turned everything orange for awhile. A very blah day for sure.
But, it's been about a month since the last dust storm so I guess we were due for one. What would I do without my hobbies to keep me productive and happy? Today I finished two more granny border towels.
And while watching coverage of the Olympics, I'm also making these easy flower bookmarks found at Lulu Loves. A great pattern for stash busting.
Have a fabulous Friday!

Sorry about the dust storm, I hope it has passed or will pass soon. Wishing you a sunshine day. Heather
Wow a dust storm...amazing...glad you are in creating...
your lovely borders make me want to join in....I also love to make crocheted bookmarks. I love the flowers you made so I may have to steal your idea!
Oh no, not dust again.....
I'm watching the Olympics too, I just watched a young woman, 16 years old, from Kuwait, it was Judo I think. The commentator said she was a trail blazer for your country.
It's great to see the games and I so admire all the athletes.
I'm stitching as I watch too.
Hugs, Angela.x
You are amazing to be able to stay cheery and sane with all that dust. I can see those pretty little crocheted flowers with green croceted vines on towels too. Hmmm...
You do more in ONE day than I do in a week! Wow! And everything you do you do so beautifully. Thank you for your comments - I look forward to reading about your productive/creative life!
bet I have more dust in my house than you do...really need to do that...but I keep finding other things to do!! you are such a busy bee these days...love the towels..such a clever idea.
have a fabulous dust free weekend Tammy...thanks for visiting and always leaving such nice comments
Dearest Tammy,
Great towels with the tiny Granny squares. Also the flowers are nice page markers for giveaway gifts.
Good for you that you can enjoy your crafts during the blah days!
Hugs and love to you,
Mariette
That's a lot of dust! Wow.
Your hooky projects are coming along so nicely. I really like the granny square boarders. So cute. :)
Blessings always
Hi Tammy, Thanks for stopping by. Gorgeous borders on those towels. Is each granny square made separately and then joined?
I am glad you like the idea of Raksha bandhan.
Pity about the dust storm.
Have a great weekend.
Love
your dust storms seem so eerie to me .... I would hate to have to venture out in one!!!
Cute projects though :)
Wow, I don`t think I could cope. You`re my hero!

It's kind of scary looking. Thank goodness for crafting. Take good care my friend.
Love your granny squares borders on the towels..so sweet! Have a un dusty weekend..if there is such a word! ❤
Granny square borders look great. I remember making a granny square jacket in the 70's. It was so bright and colorful. Think the last time I saw it was one Halloween when my son borrowed it to wear with his rainbow colored afro. I spent hours on that project.
What a cute idea the bookmarks are. I've been out of AZ but they've had some nasty dust storms while I was gone. Now it's just HOT.
I have to ask, What do you do with all of the beautiful things you make?
I just really love those bookmarks.
Such darling flower bookmarks, Tammy. So cute!
Ohhhhh, I would NOT like that dust. No, no, no.
Hope you have a good weekend despite the dust. Susan
Love the granny borders! And the bookmarks sound very useful (I have a terrible habit of folding down page corners). Thanks for the idea!
You always surprise me with how wonderful your attitude is when your conditions are less than perfect. Way to go! :) Kit
Hi Tammy, Your crocheted and embroidered gift bags are beautiful and your towels are very lovely too. It's good that with our kind of hobbies we're not dependend on the weather.
Have wonderful weekend :-)!
xoxo,
Julia
Believe it or not, we get big dust storms as well. But, they pass through and then it's clear again --- and of course we have green lawns --- but --- with all the agriculture, a windy day can really blow the topsoil off of a tilled field and the desert.
I love your crochet --- you always inspire me!
Enjoy a blessed week-end!
I don't think I would like those dust storms. But I do like your towels and bookmarks! Very nice!
Hi Tammy,
Shame you have dust there and hope it clears soon.
Must be good to catch up on all the inside jobs and crocheting. I love the sweet flower bookmarks.
Happy weekend
Hugs
Carolyn
Pretty towels and gorgeous flowers - I think. I'll go check the link.
Enjoy being inside.
I was just telling Karen how the weather has been great..but HOT! Ended up jinxing us as the next day, we got this mess. At least you have somthing to keep you busy.
To some one who has never experienced a dust storm it looks amazing and intriguing however I bet it's a right pain in the bum.
Gosh ~ you must have to feel like you need to wash your hair after you go out in that dust huh?
I like your little bookmarks ~ so cute!
Have a terrific weekend Tammy!
xo Catherine
Tammy- that dust just freaks me out-- I think I would have nightmares about it- that's weird I know. I'm amazed that you can just take it in stride---
Your towels are truly beautiful-- and the little bookmarks too-- I'd be making those in every color!!
Vicki
Inside your home looks so beautiful and serene... then the sandstorm outside... I love how you make storms seem manageable. ;) blessings ~ tanna
What a treat to have you visit my blog, and now I can return and see yours. It make be dark, but your home looks so welcoming.
I can't believe the dust storn, and the orange everywhere.
Love all your crochet's goodies. Just lovely. I read all the time and have several books going at once and think your little book markers are adorable.
When I saw all you heat and dust, I wish I could transport you for a day and we've take a walk in the park.
I've put you on my blog list, and will be back to visit.
Sending hugs, Wanda
Have fun! Sounds lovely. Not the heat + dust thing of course ;)Those clouds of dust look surreal.
Beautiful bookmarks. What a cute thing!

Yes, thank goodness for crafting...it helps ease almost any difficulty, and is a wonderful distraction technique! I love your crochet flower book marks and towel edging. I do hope the dust soon disappears. Have a happy crafty weekend, Tammy :)

Hi, Tammy, my sweet friend~ Seeing these pictures take me back to my "growing up days" in NM. We had storms just like this. I remember the sand stinging my legs when we were out playing for recess at school!! I, too, am glad you have some wonderful hobbies to keep you busy. Love the granny borders on your towels and cute bookmarks, very creative as always!! Have a fun and blessed day~ Vicki
Sorry for the dust and a blah day!! Love those sweet bookmarks!! Happy weekend to you! xo Heather
Tammy, that dust looks terrible. I love the towel borders and bookmarks you have created while staying indoors. Beautiful work!
That orange color is amazing! I've never seen anything like it.
Tammy, I really admire your art form. Your granny borders and bookmarks are so beautiful. And in addition you can watch Olympics while doing it. That's hard to do with painting with watercolors, but not impossible. Sorry you have all that dust. It reminds me of what I heard about as a child. The dust bowl of the USA during the early days of OK and KS settlement.
Towels are so cute!
You just blow me away with your crochet and productivity. I love the towels and the bookmarks! That would be a nice little gift and a quick one for me...the slug! LOL!
Something even I could probably finish! LOL! Sorry you're having dust again but it makes it look very cozy inside your home. Happy Crocheting!
The bookmarks are adorable - perhaps I can learn to make those! Love the colors of these and feel they could be used in other ways to embellish items.
Oh that dust dear - how do you manage to keep cheerful knowing all that cleaning required when it's over?
Mary X
It might be horrible and dusty outside but you are busy creating lots of pretty things inside. It's lovely to have such fun crafty hobbies to keep you busy in times like these. :)
