Dessert for Dinner

I was so sad this morning when hubby told me that outside orange kitty had died.  Yesterday morning he was fine when he came for breakfast.  In the afternoon, I noticed there was a gash on his front leg where the fur was completely gone but he seemed okay.  By evening, I found him bleeding profusely from the wound.  I cleaned up the blood; I tried to help, but there wasn't much I could do.  Now he is gone.  I wish I knew what happened to the little guy in the span of a day.
The Full Blue Moon was visible this evening as hubby and I walked to The Chocolate Bar to meet friends for coffee.
I had a latte and dark chocolate molten cake with vanilla ice cream for dinner.
My mottto for today:  Life is uncertain, eat dessert first.
(Ernestine Ulmer)

Best wishes and blessings,

Hi Tammy,

So sad to read of the dear kitty and always hard when you have to say goodbye.
Wasn't the blue moon spectacular last night and must have been lovely going out for latte and chocolate cake.

Enjoy the weekend

That is one of my family's favourite sayings, we usually check the desert menu first when eating out.
Your dinner sounds delicious.
Sorry about the kitty.

So sorry about the kitty. I'm an animal lover, especially cats, so this really touches my heart.

So sorory to heard about your kitty. We become so attached to our animals and it hurts letting them go.

As for your dinner menu, I love it! Always dessert. I can remember going out to lunch friends and having a tossed salad so we could have cheesecake for dessert.

Dearest Tammy,

Well, that was not a very happy Friday for both of you but at least you did round it off very well. I'm all with you that if you make dessert into a main meal, it's not a sin at all!
Hugs to you,
Mariette

Hi Tammy, Sorry about the cat. I can understand your sorrow, my sis-in-law is a cat lover. She has 4 cats of her own and she feeds all the strays she can find. She too gets upset when any one of them is missing or dead.
I like your motto. (Any excuse to eat dessert first is always welcome)
:) Love.

I hope you have lots of other nice times this weekend, Tammy.

Hi Tammy,

I tried to comment the other evening about the cabbage slaw recipe. I have the same one and am going to it today. It's delicious.

I really hate how the innocent animals suffer because of human neglect. Look at it this way - he must have died quickly, which is far better than having a horribly infected wound that would have caused suffering and pain to linger. That would have been even worse.

Hi Tammy...

Sounds like orange kitty got beaten up terminally by a bully.

At least you know you gave him some tender love and care on this earth and that counts.

Sincerely, Susan

That's so sad about the Orange cat.
:( Makes me hug Butters a little more this morning.

It's delightful to have dessert for dinner.

Last night, we didn't have dinner - we just went to the local pub to see our friend play and sing for a few hours with other friends. A nice night.

Nice shot of the blue moon - no full moon visible here as Isaac clouds arrived last night and it's a rainy Saturday, but nothing severe like they were predicting - just a gentle, much-needed rain.

Love, Linda

Sorry about the kitty. Never know about those things. Love your motto. Hope it's cooling off where you are. We've been up to 107 a few days, but hopefully now it's cooling off to 98-99. haha

Oh no, not another kitty. I remember seeing him when I came to your place. Again, you were there to relieve him and make his last moments comfortable. Sending hugs.

I share your sadness at not being able to take all those kitties in. Even if we don't want to own that many cats (or can't/don't have the means, etc)... it is hard not want help. Knowing you did what you could is comforting and orange kitty knew you cared.
Your motto is certainly befitting the situation. Take care.

Ohh I'm so sad too-- bless your heart for doing what you can for the desperate little kitties. We have lots of little strays too- and we do the best we can--- but I still always worry about them--

Poor orange kitty...don't you wish sometimes you could save the world, no one or thing would ever experience suffering of any kind...but would we appreciate it if we had it?
It's so nice you have somewhere to walk on a beautiful evening and have great coffee (oh, it has been years since I've had a latte...oh how I love them too) and wonderful desserts with friends and hubby...it sounds like a delightful evening even after a rough day losing orange kitty.

I am sorry to hear that the orange kitty has died, it is so sad when an animal dies, they become such a big part of your life. Great motto, love the sound of that dessert. x
