A Simply Perfect Day

Our weather was much warmer today with the temperature hitting around 70 degrees.

Jingles joined me outside while I watered plants and swept both balconies.

Birds were flitting overheard filling the air with their birdsong.

I collected an eggshell, different colored dried leaves, flower petals and a feather. I always wonder where the birds build their nests here.

A couple of months ago, I spied this tree with a little clump of twigs in its center. They were so perfectly positioned, I knew it had to be a nest. It is the one and only time I have ever seen one around here.

After a bit of cleaning inside, I sat down to make a couple more covered jars.

And then made cream of zucchini soup for dinner.

Saute 1 small chopped onion, 4 cloves of minced garlic and 6 diced zucchini in a little bit of olive oil til soft. Add 8 cups of vegetable stock, salt and black pepper to taste and about a tsp of curry powder. Bring to a boil, then simmer til tender. Add 4 TSB of sour cream and blend in batches til smooth. Serve with a sprinkling of paprika powder.

Hope you are having a simply perfect day, too.

We've warmed up a little too, but not to 70, and our nights have been very chilly. That soup sounds delicious. Perfect cold weather food :)
Have a wonderful weekend!

Jingles is a "movie star" cat, Tammy. He just knows when that camera zooms in on him that he is the Cat's Meow. Soooo adorable. He's a very handsome cat, too.

Glad you had a nice day. Susan

I love that name, such a face in the first pic :)
Thanks for the recipe, it sounds lovely and would be good on a day like today...we are getting a little snow. But, it looks pretty with the outside Christmas lights :)
I'm going to make one of those jar covers, my friend has a jar of pens and it would look nice with a cover,

Dearest Tammy,

Jingles is lucky for being able to enjoy the outdoors with you. Interesting things you swept up on your balconies!
You have missed my post from yesterday about our daugther Liz who flew back home on Friday... We're now back to just the two of us.
Love to you and a happy week and thanks for another great soup recipe!

Jingles just says it all with his look. What a beautiful day! Love your crocheted pieces, especially your delicate snowflakes in an earlier post. You creative crochet reminds me so much of my beloved Grandma that crocheted for hours.

Wishing you a wonderful Christmas season.

It is impossible for me to see Jingles and not smile. I don't think I have ever come across a cat with so much personality written all over everything she does!
Thanks for making me smile!!

Love you,

I like that you notice the little things in life - I appreciate people like that. :)

Jingles is adorable and 70 degrees sounds nice, but at the same time I wish our warmer weather here (which is upper 40s to 50s) would leave so that we could get some snow for Christmas. Looks like it's not going to happen, but never can tell.

Hope you have a great day,
Linda
