The Sunday Scoop

Oh to be a cat, stretched out on the bed all day long with not a care in the world.

This is what awaited me on both balconies when I got home from school today. It's like sweeping powder. What a mess!
I managed to finish cleaning the biggest balcony as the sun was starting to set. Tomorrow I tackle the other one. I sure hope we don't have another sand storm anytime soon.

We received another surprise box from Aunt Elaine today. So many fun things I can't even begin to name them all. The kids were sooooooooooooooooooo happy with the Tootsie Rolls and Pop Rocks she sent. Zack began singing "I love Aunt Elaine and Aunt Elaines loves me!"
With all the cleanup, I didn't have time to work on the baby afghan I started over the weekend. Originally the baby shower was to be April 9th. Plenty of time -- but now it's been changed to this Wednesday. Three days away and many rows to go. I don't think I'm gonna be able to finish in time.
Thanks to everyone for your kind messages on the passing of my aunt. My brother was a pallbearer at the funeral yesterday and passed my message of condolence on to my cousins. I was able to do the same through the funeral home website. The worldwide web truly is a wonderful thing. I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend. Best wishes for the week ahead! Peace & blessings, Tammy

Oh that looks messy. Oregon is so wet, the thought of a sand storm does not even occur to me.
Hope you get it all cleaned up.

Hi Tammy, I'm back to commenting after 3-4 months of being unable.?! Having lived on a dirt road, I have had my share of dust, but sandstorms are out of my league! But your pictures show an other-worldly beauty. I'm sorry to hear about your Aunt. Take care of yourself!
Hugs, Sherry

I remember cleaning up after the terrible dust storm we had over a year ago...the dust/sand was red. I don't envy you the cleaning at all, you poor thing. If we ever get another one, I will be wearing a face mask because the last one had me very ill with asthma for two months afterwards.

Your cat is like my dog....he lies around all day long too....cute ~ lol

The baby blanket is looking beautiful!

OH, and what a lovely lady Aunt Elaine is...lots of goodies there!

Love,
Serena

Tammy, very sorry to hear of your aunt's passing. Sending prayers to you and your family. Must be so hard to keep up with those sand storms, can't imagine what that must be like. The blanket is beautiful. Love the coloring. Blessings.

Dearest Tammy,

Missed your last post as we had a doulbe engagement party last night with our friends from India... That was lovely, all those saries and exotic jewelry and delicious food. All vegetarian but yummy.
Sorry about your aunt! I've had the very same that I'd mailed out things and they never got to read it and see it... But that's the fate of being an immigrant, living far away. Talking about your aunt, are your parents still alive? Mine are but Mom is very fraile as she's having kidney dialysis and she has more complications from it. I hope and pray that I will see her one more time alive. Having visited 63 times does give peace of mind though; we did what we could and had them come several times as well.
Oh, what an ordeal with all the sand! That enters everywhere and takes weeks and weeks of cleaning before you really get rid of it. Sorry for that.
Hope you finish the afghan for the baby still on time!
Lots of love and a big hug,

Mariette

So sorry to hear about your aunt. That must be hard, being so far away at such a time. It's hard to see that generation leave us. I love the colors on your afghan and hope you get it done for the mother to be will be delighted with it! Have a good week and hopefully no more sand storms.

Boy, that dust is something else. I am not going to complain about the thin layer of dust on top of everything inside my villa now... Your aunt Elaine sends the coolest care packages ever! How very wonderful to get her boxes, for you and the boys too! Hope you enjoy it all.
The afghan is coming along really nicely. I am looking forward to seeing Elena's baby wrapped up in it!! Keep working my friend. It will be done before you know it!

Hope you are having a great day!

Love,
Renee

Hi Tammy...Good luck with the sand clean up. Wow, Aunt Elaine's package was super. If you don't finish the afghan on time, you can snap a picture of it and put it in the card, promising the afghan when it's finished. Take care and have a good Monday. Susan
