A Bit of Crazy and Some Stitches

I finally made it to another Yarn & Fiber Group meeting. The last one I attended was crazy quilting. Two of the ladies brought their finished pieces to show us. (Mine is still unfinished.)

On the agenda for this evening ... embroidery stitches.

We were shown a sampling of work from a lady in the morning group.

Apparently she hasn't been embroidering for very long and yet she can do this. I'm thinking a biweekly 2 hour meeting just isn't gonna cut it.

Our weekend starts this afternoon. Happy day! Sending all good wishes your way for a bright and beautiful Thursday. Friendship blessings, Tammy

I haven't done embroidery in years! Lovely stitches! The lady's work in the last pic is quite impressive for being fairly new at it. It looks beautiful!

Oh wow, I love to embroider! All of my first altered art pieces were completely embroidered, believe it or not...Oh, you'll enjoy doing this!
I have heard about so much stuff going on with the Middle East that I sure hope you are safe there. Sending (((hugs))) your way,
Cindy

I've been thinking about embroidery myself but not sure if I have the patience, but it looks so beautiful.
Would it be wrong to take crocheting to a Justin Bieber concert???
I know my son would hate me forever. Maybe there will be some attractive backing dancers to ogle at and pass the time. xxxx

I wish we had something like that by me. Sounds like a lot of fun experimenting with different needlework. Hope you have a great day Tammy! :-)

Pretty! I have absolutely no patience for sewing - I hate it - but I admire what others do. :)

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Still no news here and I've lost my positive energy as of last night and am feeling discouraged today.

Beautiful work ... love the embroidery work. That's something I would like to eventually take instruction in. I think handwork is so rewarding not to mention beautiful. Blessings to your day.

Hello my friend! thank you so much for your words today on my blog. The world is so small these days, and you are right-we all in our own way can reach out to others. I am so happy to be getting to know you!
hugs,

You pictured some beautiful pieces. So much work in those quilts! My mom still does some quilting and I love having one of her quilts in my home. She also still embroiders and taught me how several (several) years ago. I haven't done any embroidery work in a long time. I keep thinking I'll try it again but I haven't taken that step yet.
Enjoy your weekend.
Jane

Beautiful colors and work! Do share with us yours when you are finished! ...though, it must be time-consuming, right?
have a lovely weekend!

If you can crochet with that thin thread so perfectly, you'll have no trouble at all with embroidery!

Lovely embroidery, Tammy! I had sent you an email (I used the email on the side bar), but I'm not sure if you received it. I thanked you for your kind comment on my blog. You truly inspired me with your sentiments.
Thank you!

I love crazy quilting even though I haven't done any for years. I think it is a great medium for all kinds of embelishment. I love any kind of handword and embroidery is so fun. Love the pieces you showed. Thanks for sharing.

Those stitches look like fun! My grandma taught me a few stitches when I was little, but I'm not very knowledgeable about that kind of thing! Have a wonderful weekend!

I haven't embroidered in years!! I think it would take more than 2 hours bi-weekly for me for sure! The photos are beautiful! Have a great weekend!

Are those to pieces on top for you. If they are, they are crazy beautiful. The colors and pattern really coordinate nicely with each other. Gosh, it took me forever to learn how to x-stitch. I wouldn't even think about embroidering until my life settles down, which will be probally in about another 20 years.

Those quilting pieces are lovely. I don't quilt, but I LOVE quilts and sincerely appreciate those that quilt. My stitch group has a few ladies that quilt, and their work is just amazing. I am in awe of their patience and skill.
Embroidery is something I might try one day, but right now, cross stitch is my best friend. No signs of that changing anytime soon...
Glad you made it to the meeting and learned a few new things!!

Love ya,
Renee
