Pray!

Did you know that elephants grieve? Some also believe that elephants are capable of tears and weeping when they are sad or distressed?

Please pray for Linda at Over the Fence and her daughter, Sarah, who will be having surgery this morning. A biopsy is required to determine the cause of the abnormal enlargement of lymph nodes in her neck.

"In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." (Phil. 4:6)

I received a distressing email from Lori at Creative Serenity yesterday. Her daughter Abigail has recently been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and their lives have been turned upside down. Lori lost her firstborn, Caleb, and now is losing faith because of this recent heartbreaking news. I don't know Lori but we have connected through blogging and my heart just aches for her.

When you have come to the edge Of all light that you know;
And are about to drop off into the darkness Of the unknown,
Faith is knowing One of two things will happen:
There will be something solid to stand on or You will be taught to fly.

(Patrick Overton)

If you haven't heard Justin Bieber's song PRAY you must go here to listen. When I hear it on the radio, I sing out at the top of my lungs. The words are absolutely beautiful.

Please keep Linda and Lori and their sweet girls in your prayers. Friendship blessings, Tammy

I pray that there will be good outcomes for your friends' daughters, Tammy, as they experience a very worrying time ahead.

I've heard that about elephants too...there are also many other animals that grieve for their loved ones too.

Tammy and all, bless your heart. I have no words to express my gratitude for your prayers. We're preparing now for bed with the surgery very early in our morning and will report with news as I have it. The surgeon has said that it can be one week to three weeks for final pathology reports, and that we will likely receive news in parts. I'm hoping for the first part of good news after the surgery is completed. We're all very nervous but trying to remain positive.
Love and blessings always,
Linda

What a loving, faith-filled post, dear Tammy...I will keep your friends in my prayers. Sometimes life is filled with so many hard things and it's so hard to understand why...

Faith is always the answer. Faith and prayer.

Thanks for sharing and reminding. I did not know that about elephants--just fascinating!

Sending much love your way, dear friend...

Julie

Hello Tammy...So much sorrow everywhere, isn't there? When all human means of helping a situation are exhausted, there is only one place to go...into the arms of our Creator. May Linda, Sarah, and Lori seek Him now. He will never abandon His beloved little ones.

I never knew elephant could cry or grieve. Gosh, that was an amazing thing to learn.

Blessings to you on this Monday. Susan

Hi Tammy,
My heart is going out to these Mothers and their baby girls. I'm so sorry to hear that they are ill. I will be praying for them all. Thanks for sharing about them. It is hard to understand why these things happen.
God is the only way to get through these hard times. When my daughter lost her husband last September it was SO heartbreaking. And I was really worried that it would shake my daughter's faith. I gave her this scripture and the our pastor read it at my SIL's memorial. Psalms 71:19-21.

I was watching a program on TV about elephants and they mentioned that they grieve just the other day. And they are very intelligent. It was just amazing. Beautiful creatures.

Thanks for sharing, Tammy. Have a blessed week.
Hugs,
Sonya

Dearest Tammy,

Yes, we knew about the elephants that live together and baby-sit the little ones with aunts and extended family and grieve about a death. They're highly intelligent creatures and it's therefore that they are integrated into the Hindu religion. For that reason, the Republicans have chosen a very nice symbol!
As for the sad part of your blog, our heart and prayers go out to them and we must leave it into the hands of our Creator. We as little human beings will never fully comprehend the entire purpose of things... May all find the strength to face a difficult road ahead. We will be visiting soon a dear friend who's eldest son (married July 2009) had surgery on his brain tumor that was cancerous... his chemo is over now and the treatment in the vein but now half a year each day radiation. Needless to say he lost his job and the young couple moved back into the parental home in order to save on rent and pay medical bills instead. Life is not easy and at times it doesn't seem fair...

Lots of love,

Mariette

Hi Tammy, that sad news, but it is important prayer under the suffering. As Mariette says sometimes do not understand certain things that happen, but even in the midst of adversity we must pray for protection. Deuteronomy 33:12. Very just your call for unity for the prayer, I have always believed that the union is strength. a hug, Rose Marie

What is up with March? It hasn't been a good one...countries getting tsunamis and catastrophic earthquakes, homes getting burnt down, people getting sick...not good!
I pray for your friends that things will get better.

Elephants are wonderful beings. God put so much of Himself in them. I pray that your friend will be brought even closer to God thru this unbearable time. I was just reading a little devotional this morning how trials make us look 3 ways: inward, outward, and upward. We are pushed to search when we suffer. Prayers said for them.

I certainly will pray. Thank you for bringing this to us. Prayer is powerful and especially in hearts that join together for those we don't even know but our souls do. Blessings to all. Blessings to you for your kind and always gentle spirit.

Lori and Linda on my prayers list. Dear Tammy go over to my blog and take the card on my sidebar. It is a little tribute to those who are able to blog about faith and prayer. Of course I can't remember the name. I just looked at it a few minutes ago but it is gone now. Something like "Light of the World." NO rules I am recognizing your ability to witness to your faith.

I believe elephants do feel, they seem so sensitive, especially with mice. My Mom collect them and she is a sensitive soul~
I will add your friends to my prayers!

Thanks so much for visiting my little blog. I love what you've added here about the elephants--such wise and gentle creatures. Reminds me a bit of the story I saw today about a dog in Japan taking rescuers back to another hurt dog. What an interesting life you lead...I'll look forward to digging around here on your blog to learn more about you. Hope you're having a good week!

The elephinks, my favorite. Since I was a child. I have a few around that I've had over the years. I did know that they grieve, they are very family oriented. Prayers going out...I like the comment you made about Faith one of two things happen....isn't that the truth. Stopping by to catch up, thank you for stopping by my place..the MEME does sound found, and of course we all do something of that nature don't we.
