Out of the Blue and Some Color, Too!

This week I received a birthday card from a cousin I've not talked to or seen in years. Her mother, my father's sister, is in a nursing home and her father was my uncle who died in a car accident in November.

My cousin made a simple request ... that I please send mail to her mother as she is so lonely since Uncle Don died. The card they sent took a month to make its way to me. If I used regular mail, they might get it by Easter, so I am getting some things together and will send them out by express service.

While my boss was in Canada and the States on business, he did a bit of shopping and brought this back for me.

Inside was a beautiful tye-dyed Bindya Scarf. It is a cashmere/silk blend and is made by a designer named Bindya Lulla. I found this description online: A style for every personality, designer and founder Bindya Lulla finds inspiration during her bi-annual trips to India and Paris, as well as on the runways and streets of New York City. Always on-trend, Bindya's designs capture the imagination and have proven addictive in their fine quality blends of cashmere, wool and silk.

Speaking of India, a friend recently brought this back for me while on one of her trips to Mumbai where her mother lives.

Scarves and jewelry -- my favorite accessories! They know me well!

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday! Rainbow wishes and friendship blessings, Tammy

What beautiful gifts you received. Certainly to be treasured. Will add your aunt to my prayers that she be comforted. I know your mail will do just that. What a beautiful baby in a most beautiful blanket in the the last post. Its almost midnight here and seeing your lunch with your friend is making me hungry ... lol. Better get to bed before I decide to start eating. Have a lovely day sweet girl. Blessings.

Hi Tammy,

Dearest Tammy,

Indeed, in a case like your lonely aunt, a letter might not reach her timely... It is a shame that we no longer can rely on the mail like it used to work in the 80s and even early 90s. We've seen a lot of decline. And sad is that those dear loved ones have no access to a PC in order to reach them and break the loneliness.
But you can 'frame yourself' in your exotic silk-cashmere-wool scarf; however you want to wear it. The jewelry is also very tasteful and exotic! Enjoy it and it speaks volumes of you as they all LOVE you...

Have a great Wednesday!

Mariette

Tammy, I would like to say a big thank you for your words of comfort and friendship.....thank you for stopping by and visiting!! I love the gifts you received and I know how wonderful it is to be able to send out mail and cheer someone up, it takes forever for mail to go to or come in to my neck of the woods, I love it when I see the postman's truck pull up!!!
I will be back to visit again, take care!
Hugs,

Awww, Tammy. That's nice you got lovely gifts. You deserve them. Would your cousin's Mom like a card from a stranger? If yes, send me her address! I'd love to send her a card. I've worked in nursing homes and know how lonely the residents can get. The scarf is just gorgeous. Love the muted colors. Hope your day is wonderful, Tammy. I, too, join the chorus in loving your upbeat, cheerful spirit! Susan

I love scarves and jewelry too! :) Glad you received these lovelies.

Can you believe that it's actually sunny and going up to a high of 60 today here? It's showing 70 for tomorrow, but that won't last. Hope you have a wonderful remainder of the week. Still no news here after Sarah's surgery - but that's what we're hoping for at the moment. No news until her follow-up appointment on Monday.

Hey there! Thanks for your visit and sweet comment. I really think that my list of 3 is an "ah ha" moment. I mean even if I scratch off one item, it is a win! I feel exactly like you, with not getting all my stuff done as I hope to. So invest a whole buck into a sheet of scrapbook paper and make yourself a little list tablet, try the process and just see what happens. Do let me know! I'm rooting for you all the way. So happy for you with the lovely gifts! The scarf and jewelry are all WONDERFUL! Happy belated birthday!!! xx,
Autumn Clark
