Back to School Blues

Okay, so going back to school after our 10 day Spring Break wasn't so bad (although I am sure the kids would say otherwise). My boss and his wife went to Germany for a few days over the break and brought me back this gorgeous tin Faberge egg. It just happens to be in my favorite colors (and is sitting on a crocheted piece I finally decided to finish up this evening).

It is filled with yummy chocolates also shaped liked eggs and filled with a little something something to make them extra special. (Two down, three to go.)

I think I have a sickness. I am looking at the box the egg came in along with the insert and wondering how I can use them in a project. I can't seem to throw anything away without thinking twice.

I hope everyone had a beautiful Easter day. The colored eggs we made yesterday became tonite's dinner.

I know it might look a little messy but the kids love it. They won't eat potato salad because neither of them likes mayo. This dish was something I learned from Sam's family. Boiled potatoes and boiled eggs mashed together with salt and lots of pepper. What makes it delicious is the olive oil drizzled on top. We bring our olive oil from Jordan and it is so good. Makes everything taste yummy. The olive oil I find in grocery stores in the States doesn't have any taste at all.

Olive oil is also what makes this spinach dish delicious. Cooked and drained spinach stirred in with onion that has been wilted in olive oil. Both of these dishes are eaten with warmed pita bread and are quite tasty and healthy to boot.

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead. Blessings for good health and much happiness. Tammy

Don't worry...you'll figure something out. I have a nice box too that I've been pondering how to decorate it. That potato and egg dish looks and sounds delish and as far as olive oil goes...I could probably eat it with everything. I buy it from a nice little Italian market in my community. We didn't do much on Easter but work on the yard all day..It was very rewarding and we were exhausted, but in a good way. Have a good one!

I would love to try that olive oil that you mentioned! Yum!!

I'm having spring break withdrawals, but am slowly getting back into the swing of things after our travels. I had to, because we had a huge Easter gathering here yesterday at our house - I cooked and managed to pull everything off, just one day back from Florida. Not bad, but I'm tired. And I'm missing the beach!

Just starting to get caught up on the blogging - reading and writing.

Blessings,
Linda

Oh gosh, I can't even bear of collecting more things...of course, i don't have the crafting bug like you do. I just sorted out my room and threw out and stored some things. My room was starting to look like a storage facility and not a proper bedroom. I still have a ways to go to get it nice and comfy.
Very thoughtful and sweet thing for your boss to do. I love German chocolate!! I am enjoying my break for now and don't even want to think about going back yet. The sooner I do, the sooner we will closer to summer and traveling. Good eatings!

Chocolate!!! I love chocolate. If only I could have a looooot every day...
That spinach looks lovely. I love dark green leaves, and spinach is probably my very favorite. Should try this recipe!, as it sounds easy for a bad cook just like myself ;-)

Your potatoe and egg dish sounds really yummy! I will have to give it a try. Or you can make it for me this summer:)
ok.. are you becoming a hoarder who can not throw anything away like my mother?!
(love you mom:)!
There will always be more cans, jars and boxes. I threw what I was saving away (recycled it) I thought that when I have the gumption to do a project I will save what I need then. There is never a shortage of things to use or recycle here in my house.
Going to have Jamie paint your guestroom soon. I am saving the purple wall and have found a color I think looks well with it. After that... just needs a new light.. I am trying to decide between a nice cieling fan or a small chandelier... what do you think?
luv!!

Dearest Tammy, I couldn't leave you a comment on your newer post (blogger didn't let me, I don't know why) so I hope you also read this comments on older posts. Your scrapbook is a really WONDERFUL gift for your friend!!! It is made with love and this love and friendship is to see between the sides!
And I also love your gorgeous Faberge egg - so pretty! Lots of hugs. I am going to make a little journey now and therefore I will make a little blogging pause... Lots of hugs, Traude
