I hope you are all having a wonderful week. Last nite I attended a dinner to benefit a local animal shelter that recently experienced a devastating fire. 41 animals were lost due to smoke inhalation. Many organizations and individuals are working tirelessly to raise money so that rebuilding, expanding and improving can occur in the next few months. Animal welfare is a huge issue in Kuwait and the two organizations dealing with the problem are solely reliant on volunteers and donations.
There was a raffle with many prizes to be won. I never win anything but always buy raffle tickets to support whatever the cause may be at any given time.
There was one lady there who won four prizes in a row. First she got a gift certificate, then a box of chocolates. So when the next two prizes came up, and she won, and they were both boxes of chocolates, she gave one to a guy she knew and the last one she gave to my friend Maria. Immediately after that, Maria actually won a prize with her tickets and handed it over to me.
It's a gift certificate to a furniture store called Freedom which I've not heard of before. Apparently it's an Australian company.
25-KD is equivalent to $75, but judging by the prices shown in the magazine, I might not be able to get much for my money. The good news is that it's at the same mall where I can get the white chocolate ginger cheesecake. Remember this ...
Definitely worth a trip! Hope your day is beautiful and filled with unexpected surprises! Blessings to you, Tammy

Congratulations, Tammy. It's always nice to win something. And yeah, that cheesecake looks pretty darned yummy! Sincerely, Susan
Glad to know that you had a good time and for a good cause even though they served vegetarian food.....mmmmm.....remember Moosehead...HA! I heard they have already come up with more than 1/2 of what they need to start rebuilding. Its always sad when such a tradegy happens, not only once, but twice. Hopefully more awareness will be raised concerning animal welfare here and something good will come out of such tragedy.
I'm sure you can find a little treasure then go get yourself a treat!!
Hi Tammy! I never win things in raffles, either...some people are just lucky like that! How nice of your friend to share with you! That cheesecake looks fabulous--yum!
Hope you're having a lovely day!
That's fun, congrats! Hope your Wednesday will be full of surprises too!
Have a happy day, sweet friend. xoxo

That made me laugh - cheesecake is always worth the trip!
At least it will be nice to look around, and maybe not huge pieces of furniture, but perhaps a home decoration? In any case, a slice of that cheesecake is well worth the trip alone :-)
Have a lovely day!
Hey, that was fun!

That's wonderful! And that cake looks soooo awesome - yum :)
White chocolate ginger cheesecake!!! That sounds incredibly delicious. Isn't it funny how luck is. You just never know how it's going to fall. Diane
ohhh, I'll meet you for some cheesecake, looks so yummy! Great work these organizations are doing. Have a wonderful day and evening filled with blessings and love.
That cheesecake looks delish! Hopefully the furniture store has some accessories like candle holders or picture frames!
Hi, Tammy,
We had a similar incident just recently at our animal shelter. They have rebuilt now and can house even more animals thankfully. I hate to see any animal hurt or neglected. Our shelter is run by volunteers and is called "Second Chance". Thank you for supporting the new shelter there where you live. I think uncared for animals is a universal problem. Enjoy a piece of that yummy cheesecake for me! Love to you! Vicki
T, I have had such fun catching up on your posts. Glue gun happiness has had you busy! Have to remember the bottles with little bits of grass on top - very sweet. The photo of your tabby in the garden container was too sweet. My 20lb Mr. Kits would never fit! Beautiful ocean view as well as the minerets (sp). I still have such a hard time reconciling that where you live is exotic while American at the same time. I love that your home reflects the traditions of your beautiful country. Easter blessings, E
Isn't it utterly amazing how some people win over and over again? I'm so sorry about the lost animals. Such a crying shame.
Brenda
So sad about those animals. Glad you could help.
Oh boy, that white chocolate ginger cheese cake sounds like a winner to me!
WHAT A NICE THING YOUR FRIEND DID GIVING YOU THE CERIFICATE. I AM SURE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO FIND SOMETHING. THAT CHEESECAKE REALLY LOOKS YUMMY AND DELICIOUS. ENJOY IT.
WHAT A GREAT THING TO ALWAYS ATTEND SUCH EVENTS. WE NEED MORE OF THAT AROUND HERE.
LOVE KAY
I just read Melissa's comment and busted out laughing to hear her talk about our outing to the Moosewood!! I have not thought about that day in a long time. HA! My subconsious is blocking it out!!
How nice that you got to go with Maria to the dinner for such a good cause. I know few people who care as much about animals as you and Maria. How very sweet of Maria to give you her prize. Sounds like an interesting furniture store. Go and give it a look, then go and treat yourself to cheesecake. Wish I was there to share with you!!
Have a great weekend, honey!!
Love,
Reee
