Heartbroken

I've been making it a habit every morning to visit a few blogs before starting my day.  Sadly, this morning, the first post in my sidebar was from dear Betsy The Simple Life of a Queen that our mutual blog friend Teresa Kasner unexpectedly passed away yesterday.  She had a hospital stay the end of April where she was diagnosed with stomach ulcers and even though still unwell, she optimistically posted to her blog on April 30th with an update ... and now she is gone.  I still can't believe it.   Although we never met in person,  Teresa has always been a faithful, constant support in my life for all of my blogging years.  We have corresponded and exchanged handmade gifts through the mail.  I so very much enjoyed her blog posts; her positive, down-to-earth attitude; her beautiful collections, her joy of sharing her surroundings, her knowledge of Multnomah Falls and love for boats; how she cared for her flowers and her family and sweet little pups; how every special occasion and holiday was clearly celebrated on her dining room table; her beautiful crochet work and all the other handicrafts she did.  I could go on and on.

These are just a few of the things she sent me over the years. It's a true reminder that we really never know how much time we have.

These flowers are Limonium a/k/a Sea Lavender.  Teresa loved the water and was an accomplished sailor who lived on a houseboat for many years.  I remember when she posted about selling her beloved Stargazer, the sailboat she and her husband owned for 25 years.

Dearest Teresa, you will be missed.
May you rest in peace.
And may your family find comfort in all the beautiful memories.

I am devasted, shocked and heartbroken too. Teresa was such a good friend to me and to many of us here in blogland. I had the honor of knowing her personally and visiting with her, Dayle, Travis and Kristi and their boys in their home often. We spent time at the Oregon coast with them last year and had a wonderful time. Teresa enjoyed helping people too. She was invaluable to me when I got my laptop, helping me to set it up for blogging. I am going to miss her greatly. She was so busy, so full of life that it doesn't seem possible that she's actually gone so suddenly.
My heart goes out to you too Tammy. It's a reminder to me, to everyone actually to always let others know how we feel about them before it may be too late.
Blessings and big hugs,
Betsy

Hello. I am Natalie, another blogging friend. I’m visiting other friends of Teresa, in search of reflections like yours... loving tributes. She was beloved, and such a wonderful woman. I cannot fathom a world without her. It’s a small comfort to find that, of course, she left her brilliant legacy everywhere, with so many! Weren’t we so lucky to have been one of her many friends?

Dearest Tammy,
Yes, it is quite shocking when we lose one of our virtual friends!
WISH that more people would resume life in a more positive way and looking around for the manyfold of little miracles that surround us. Let go of all the greed, envy, hatred or whatever negative emotion!
Life is not worth it and we indeed are only a very short/limited time here on earth. Don't waste that precious time...
Big hugs,
Mariette

So very sad when things like this happen. I didn't know Theresa but I can imagine that this truly unexpected passing is very hard on so many family members and friends.
It makes one realize that we just never know when our time is up so must make each day count. May that sweet lady be in a happy place now.

The first blog I opened this morning also shared the news of Teresa passing. And yes, it certainly was sudden. You really summed up her personality and spirit. And she was so creative, much like you. Blogging has been, and always will be a way to make connections and sustaining friendships. Thus, losing a blogging friend is akin to losing someone in your "real world".

I left a comment on her blog for her family. I'm sure they are devastated. Hang in there, Tammie.❤️

I'm so sorry about Teresa. I did not know her well other than to see her on your blog occassionally. She seemed young although everyone seems young to me now that I am old. I will pray for her family as she is at peace but I'm sure they are struggling. It's the o nes left behind who are suffering now. I hope your heart heals my friend.

Tammy - I haven't read Teresa's blog for quite some time, but it was one of the early ones (like yours) that got me started in blogging. So sad when someone leaves us suddenly -- it makes the grieving quite difficult. Hopefully writing your post helped somewhat - a loving tribute. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all those who will miss her.
