Today has been a very cloudy day with extremely blustery weather since late afternoon. My husband usually watches a little t.v. in the evening but when he turned it on, there was nothing but a black screen. It seems that the wind has taken out our satellite dish.
Last night I joined a #saturdaynightcraftalong on Instagram by posting the cross-stitched bookmark I finished yesterday.
Many years ago, when I couldn't find these in the market, I gave some aida cloth and trim to someone who cut and sewed a bunch up for me.
I did stitch a few in the past, but still have about 10 to make use of so I dug them out the other day and this was the first one I made.
It still needs to be ironed and backed with felt. I've started stitching another one but am missing one floss color. A craft group friend has it in her stash so I will swing by her place soon to pick it up.
Have you read any good books lately?
Wishing you a beary good day!

Beautiful work Tammy
What a sweet, sweet little bookmark. Do you know how linear thinking I am? It never occurred to me to make my own bookmarks out of aida and lace trim! How ridiculous is that? I wanted to make bookmarks for friends a couple of years ago and couldn't find any like this so I gave up. Oh my gosh! Now I can make some myself. Thank you Tammy! Sometimes I irritate myself. I have no imagination but I follow directions well. :-)
I hope you have a lovely Monday. We're in for some thunderstorms tonight. That's one think I love about being back in Nebraska. The rolling thunder across the sky while I sleep. It's like a lullaby to me.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
What a sweet bookmark. Stay safe in that crazy wind!
Such a pretty bookmark--they make great thank you gifts, too!
This is the cutest bookmark. I have found it hard to find aida bookmarks here too. How wonderful you found someone who could cut and add the sweetest trim. Have a beary great week Tammy and happy stitching.
The weather has been strange this Spring. I'm enjoying it but while we're in the '60s
up North is in the '80s! Totally turned around.
I love your bookmark. So precious and I would back it with that pinecone fabric...it goes perfectly with it.
I got rid of my satellite years ago because whenever the weather was bad there was no t.v. and that was when I was inside and wanted to watch it! LOL! I have Roku now and a subscription to Netflix and I am good. I can still see some news and weather for free. Regular channels cost $25 a month here so I pass on that. There's not much I care to watch except YouTube podcasts. Have a great week!
Dearest Tammy,
That is a lovely cross stitching!
Well, in three weeks I'm hoping to find some leisure time (while on vacation in the Tennessee mountains) to start reading. A book about cats by blogger friend Leah: https://catwoodsporchparty.wordpress.com/
Husband Pieter read her very informative Catwoods book already. So will I, now I finally get more time after having managed tasks to simplify our lives.
Yesterday we biked together 32 km. Sunday a week ago we did 37.8 km. I'm enjoying this so much and want to build around more rounds.
Big hugs,
Mariette
Amazing stitching Tammy!
I read A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. Not exactly a happy story, but I learned a lot and I enjoyed the "female strength" message. Cute bookmark!
Very pretty bookmark indeed. I am so tired of the plastic advertising bookmarks . I think a pretty bookmark like this would make a big difference.I used to do a lot of cross-stitch a few years back but I must have fell out of love with it as I turned back to my first primary craft which is crochet. I have some Aida cloth tucked away so I just might go back to a bit of cross-stitch :-) Thanks for the inspiration. keep well Amanda x
