We had some wild weather over the weekend, so with clear skies today, I headed out for a morning walk. My intent always is to nourish body and soul, seek beauty in my surroundings and commune with nature.
And there was some of that along the way.
Because if you're looking, it's there to find.
But there's also things I don't want to really see.
Like the further destruction of the walking path closest to our home, along with the removal of even more trees, because of road expansion.
Garbage everywhere because people can't seem to bother themselves to dispose of it properly.
And even though puppies are super cute and precious, I certainly don't like to see them abandoned and alone.
I found these two sweeties next to a trashcan by a park, and after talking with several homeowners near there who didn't know who they belonged to, I carried them home with me.
I mean, seriously.
Could you just walk away from these innocent babies?
While they slept on the balcony, I posted about them on Instagram and am so grateful that a very sweet follower, whom I've never met (til now), volunteered to foster until homes can be found.
She came and picked them up with plans to bathe them and then get them vaccinated tomorrow.
My animal whisperer vibes must have been on high frequency today because as I came back upstairs after handing the puppies over, I found this little dove in our stairwell desperately trying to find its way out. It kept flying into a sealed window over and over and couldn't be shooed downstairs so I had to literally capture it, take it downstairs and release it.
All I could do was laugh. Definitely not at all what I had planned when I walked out my door this morning.
Have a blessed day!
