Happy Hibiscus

Pause and remember:
Every morning is a new page in the story of your life.
You are creating your life at every moment.
Think wisely about the day you want to create for yourself.
(Jenni Young, Simple Reminders)
The above photos show a day in the life of a hibiscus.
From bud, to brilliant bloom, and then the faded flower at the end of the day.

This is the first year I've had hibiscus on my balcony.
It has happily produced beautiful blooms for months now.
Sometimes just one; sometimes more.
Today there were three.
Which makes me very happy.
This afternoon we had clouds roll in, but nothing ever happened.
Just a grand show at the end of the day.
I'd like to thank you all for your kind thoughts and wishes yesterday.
Blogger buddies truly are a lovely bunch.
I'm fine and all is well, but I will be taking a brief pause which I will tell you all about next week.

Happy Monday!

Very pretty! :)

I wish you well. I'm still thinking of taking my own permanent pause from Instagram. Made a clean break from FB and I just feel I need to disconnect from everything technology related (except for email at work of course!). The lyrics to the Reliant K song that I like "Look on Up" is my continued inspiration... because as nice as it is to connect with people online, there was a whole world before this time that existed and I was happy and at peace then without the feeling or need to share pictures. So, time will tell. In the meantime, I've enjoyed following your blog.
Kind regards,
Linda

I agree Tammy try crocheting around the leaf first and then drying. Gonna try this myself. You always inspire me.

Your hibiscus sets beautiful blooms and a powerful example. I'm so glad to see a post from you, Tammy - I've been thinking about you and hoping the weather has allowed walking.

Oh my goodness....What beautiful shots of those Hibiscus. When we lived in Santa Barbara, by the ocean. My double Hibiscus were as tall as the house, and each bloom was double. Perfect place to grow flowers.

Your Hibiscus is very pretty. Your sky was just giving you a teaser. A brief pause is needed sometimes. Hope all is well.

I'm sorry to hear you're in a funk, Tammy. I hope your break does you good. I understand, I haven't been feeling too creative lately myself, just due to stress and everyday life stuff that seems to keep getting in the way. I loved seeing your hibiscus. My hibiscuses are just starting to send up shoots from the ground. They're a bit later than my other plants in that way, but they are so worth the wait. They almost always bloom in the first week of July and I get about two full months of blooms from them. They're one of my favorite things in the yard. Take care and have a good week.

Tammy.. that is the exact same cultivar of red Hibiscus I have.. aren't they the most amazing flowers!? I do with they lasted more than one day.. but they're so beautiful that it's worth it to have one. Your photos of your flower are magnificent. Love love love. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Hibiscus is so beautiful. When I was on vacation in Mexico years ago, I loved watching the lizards go up to the hibiscus (which grew so freely down there) and eating an entire flower in one bite! It was fascinating to watch. Hope you are doing OK and that your break is a positive one!

Beautiful hibiscus flowers. We enjoyed them so much when we lived in Ecuador. They grow here in pots but won't survive the winters, mild as we have them.
I hope you enjoy your break.

I like the quote for the day Tammy, and it ties in well with your previous post ;) Your hibiscus is beautiful, and it does have a happy look to it! Take care and enjoy your day(s),

Dear Tammy, So sorry about the email. You won't be able to email me from blogger as ever since I went to Windows 10 they now want my email password for "the cloud" and I refuse. Here's my email slicher@centurytel.net you'll just have to email me the regular way and then I'll have yours. We could be email pen pals!
Your photos of the hibiscus are so pretty! I love hibiscus and I had a yellow one for years that I would bring inside for winter and it would bloom in my East facing window. I was very surprised and in the summer outside it would go! The red is stunning!

Gorgeous photos. Flowers are such a blessing even if a bloom lasts only for a day Extreme heat can be very trying and I hope you feel more upbeat very soon.

Dearest Tammy,
You got a very lovely and loyal blooming Hibiscus plant. Yes, they can yield quite some flowers and such loyal bloomers too.
I love to look at them and admire their beauty, all of their parts!
Hibiscus is used for tea I know but I've never trusted myself for making any...
Sending you big hugs and blessings,
Mariette

Tammy dear I have been away from my computer and am just now reviewing your previous posts. I am so sorry you had to experience your kitty ordeal. People can be very selfish and thoughtless. You did the right thing as Jingles is your forever kitty. I hope your weather gets more tolerable so you may enjoy your lovely walks. Blessings dear...

The hibiscus are beautiful. Our yard is slowly being consumed by weeds and not the pretty kind. I've been so focused on the inside of the house the outside hasn't been a priority. Some days I stitch instead of weed : ) have a good week, Lisa
