Joy List Monday

Joining My Giant Strawberry for

Joy List Monday

A weekly ritual; a reminder to stop and pay attention to the little beauties and graces that make life magical and to set aside time for gratitude each day.

Crocheting
Connecting
Exploring
Admiring
Watching

Finishing up a washcloth for a gift ...
 and starting something new.
 Morning coffee with friends ...
 and a little silliness, too.
A quick walk around the block, spotting yellow ...
 and blue.
Seeing a lovely home surrounded by gorgeous green ...
and grateful for my own balcony garden where tiny visitors come to sit for a while.
"... Find out where joy resides, and give it a voice far beyond singing.  For to miss the joy is to miss all."
(Robert Louis Stevenson)

Have a joy-filled week!

What a lovely array of pictures today. I have a red dishcloth half done, and I need to pull it out and finish it...perhaps while I'm watching the Dodgers on TV this evening.

Love the yellow one. I have introduced yellow into my wardrobe this spring. Have never been drawn to it before, but bought a cute blouse with yellow tulips and scallops on the bottom, and got so many compliments, I guess yellow is my new favorite color.

Since I can't find my camera....guess I can't show you a picture yet! HaHa.

Love the little visitor on your balcony. We had a hummingbird today.

Hugs.

Hi Tammy,

I enjoyed seeing your lovely photos from around your place this week. Also how wonderful your woven painting is, in the last post. It must have been fun doing this class.
Happy week

And what a lovely joy list you have indeed! Isn't it nice to be "retired" and discover all the little joys each day brings? :-)

Dearest Tammy,
Yes, you certainly have found the proper balance between body, spirit and soul and that is a true blessing!
Indeed the little things in life we ought to admire and day by day.
Love those peanut ladies!
Funny, yesterday on our bike route I took a photo from fresh seeded peanut plants that have sprouted up after the heavy rains.
I will follow their progress and at the end show it to others that never have seen them grow.
I also tried to photograph five wild turkeys that are always foraging in the fields but they escaped me and with only my iPhone on hand, there was not much I could do.
Here too, making photos should be fun and spontaneous but not toting such heavy, professional equipment around. Than for me the joy is over...
By this fall I hope to be able to go back to crocheting myself again.
When I was folding laundry the other day, I was pondering over some wash cloths that were knitted by my late Dublin Mama. Such a sweet gift of love and I've used them for years and still admire her stitches of love; long after she's gone.
Sending you hugs and enjoy those birdies; we too enjoy them while having breakfast, lunch or whatever.
Mariette

I need a coffee after that delicious photo!

Lovely photos and I always feel even more happiness inside
knowing there are other people in the world just enjoying
all the small things in big gratitude.

I do have small vistors too on my balcony and they sit and wait
til I get them small crumbles of bread to eat. :D So used to it
by now I think.

Peace!
Sussie

Lovely sentiments ♥

Here, in central Illinois, we are enjoying beautiful warm days now, lots of sunshine and everything growing wildly. I harvested the first of the strawberries from our own garden yesterday evening, and all of the other garden plants are coming along nicely. Trying to find joy in the midst of suffering, it was a very, very hard week last week and weekend. Sister's long-time live-in partner died unexpectedly, she finding him dead after returning home from work (massive heart attack) and he was only 60. Things are pretty much a mess for her now and will be for a while which has pretty much been the story of her life unfortunately. Everyone in the family has been stressed. We're glad to be beyond the funeral process and to be moving forward now.

Hoping you find continued joy in your days.
Linda

I'm so in need of picking the yarn back up and working on a project and that coffee looked amazing. A much loved beverage shared with friends must be one of my favorite things.

I like the list you posted of things to remember and do each day. Great advice. I try to do a lot of those too. I like how you put crochet on the list. That's a great idea because it's so meditative and calming. I'm always amazed and impressed how you seem to fit it in each day. It feels good just to see that on your Instagram posts. I tend to let the other things on my to-do list squeeze creativity out. I should make it a higher priority. Thanks for the inspiration! Have a wonderful week!

There is joy all around if we just stop and look. It does help that I am retired and living alone in a quiet and peaceful place. It is very rare that I am sad anymore. It is just the outside world that brings it in sometimes. So much pain and suffering out there that I have to shut it out to keep my soul focused on the blessings. Your crochet and yarns are so pretty! So nice that you have friends to share your joys with.
