Crocheting acts as a mental and physical therapy and there are many beautiful things that are created in the process.
(Today’s Crochet World)
This morning I met with my craft group for a lovely crafty morning.
We met at a Caribou Coffee in a new location which was nice and quiet and off the beaten path.
A beautiful day but a bit too hot to sit outside now.
Lots of wonderful projects being worked on.
Knitting, crochet, and cross-stitch.
Coffee, companionship, conversation and crafting makes for a great start to the day.
While in Jerusalem, I had the girls take me to the closest craft store for yarn.
There wasn't a huge selection, but I bought a few colors for a specific project I had in mind to complete while there.
We had given Salwa, who is in college studying massage therapy, a mini iPad, so I wanted to crochet a sleeve for it.
After this picture was taken, I added a crocheted tab and button so that it wouldn't slip out.
She was very happy with her stripey handmade cover.
I crocheted four of these coffee coasters while there.
Washcloths were made while on planes and buses.
And another washcloth and some coasters were crocheted while on a road trip in Jordan.
You can never go wrong with coffee and crochet.
And creative friends to inspire.
Best wishes,
Best wishes,

What fun! I love that you were able to meet at CC with other creative folk to stitch. I also enjoyed seeing what you have been creating! Yesterday was in the high 80s here and today it is 56 and rainy...the ups and downs of Spring! Wishing you happy days, Tammy. xx
I really love how you have such good crafty friends and make time to create with them. I'm sure everyone enjoyed your gifts while you were on vacation.. and I bet they were impressed how quick you can make them! What a nice gift of the iPad and cover! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
That is an awesome mug you have! I love all the projects from your craft group. They are all very pretty. Travel crochet projects are so fun. Sometimes I put more thought into what project I'll bring than what clothes will come with me.
How very fun for you to buy local yarns and then crochet gifts for family members. Your morning coffee group of very creative folks is a wonderful way to begin any day. Super cute coffee cup coasters too.
Your crochet pieces are always so beautiful, Tammy, and how you work in your community makes me smile. I can only imagine how 'giving' can make one feel so happy.
Thanks so much for your comment on my last post. My doctor did recommend yoga and I wholeheartedly agree this would be very helpful. I've taken yoga classes nearby and plan to sign up for them again. Pilates is much more intense as you must know but I may work up to that.
Thanks for being such an informative and understanding friend!

Wonderful works there Tammy. If you would like to learn to make paper beads go to You Tube and type in how to make paper beads. They give patterns on how to cut the paper and everything. Love the little coffee coasters. Might try those.
I love those little coffee coasters, or tea coasters if you are me and only drink tea. You are always so giving my friend. Happy you had time with lovely ladies to crochet.

It is so important to have a pastime that keeps your hands busy, makes new friends, and inspires your brain. I'm finding this out in this stage of my life now more than ever. Oh, and it gives you a reason to SHOP. You create such beautiful things, Tammy.
You've made some lovely things Tammy. That kindle cover is really nice and I'm sure it's greatly appreciated. I can imagine how fun looking through the yarn store in Jerusalem was. Love the mug too. I have a great group of ladies that I meet with on most Friday's and always have a wonderful time. Yarn and friends it just doesn't get much better.
Blessings,
Betsy
Love those kind of days. Friends and. crafting. Love the coffee cup coasters and the mini pad cover. It is freezing here. Very unusual weather. I wore two winter coats today at a LaCrosse game. Hugs
Dearest Tammy,
You are doing what I used to do all the time; in the plane, at airports, always crocheting as it is so easy to pick up and to put away.
But I'm a few years older and now on a plane or at the airport I'm not straining my eyes anymore.
LOVE your gifts that you created while in Jerusalem and for sure it made for happy receiving.
Sending you hugs,
Mariette
Looks like a morning spent doing what you love best. :)
I spent our weekend doing what I love best which is running around with my husband in our little sports car on road adventures. :) This weekend we headed over to northern Indiana to the house of my old friend (whom I met when I worked with her at her sister's company over 32 years ago and we reconnected on Facebook a couple of years ago which is why I loved Facebook for all the reconnecting that happened in my life because of it). She and her husband are very well suited for Jim and I and we always have a great time together and this time, her 92 year old Mom was in for a month long visit so we had an afternoon of Michigan Rummy, which I had never played before, so I learned something new which isn't easy at this age, lol, but I figured if her 92 year old Mom could still play, then I could learn it. It was a fun day. Yesterday was more running around just my best friend (my husband) and I which is how I typically like to spend all of my days. Alas, today is Monday and I'm back at work which is very slow and boring during the summer months. Thankfully though there is much time off ahead to look forward to.
Have a nice new week! :)
You have had a very productive crafting time! The coasters are lovely aren't they! The cover for the computer is a good idea too!
An old friend of mine lives in Jordan...
I enjoy reading all your blogposts again and
watching all beautiful photos from your trip
to Palestine and Jordan.
Prolific you are, my crocheting friend...LOVE that little yarn shop! And sitting outside...it eludes us here, too. Seems it just gets pleasant enough to enough, and BAM! TOO HOT to be outside! Sigh...Happy Thursday, Tammy. XOXO
