Painted Crochet Pendant

This morning I attended a crochet workshop at Sadu House.

The workshop was given by Shelby Allaho who is a crochet designer from Oregon.
Her husband is a woodworker and together they have created "Mini Masterpiece Pendants".
Our wonderful workshop kits.
And some beautiful examples of their frames with Shelby's designs.
Time to get to work.
There were moments when everyone was so absorbed in what they were doing, you could have heard a pin drop.
Our mini masterpieces.
It was a very relaxing morning in lovely surroundings.
2 hours later, when I walked outside, the day had turned hazy and dusty.
I brought my pendant home and placed it amongst the plants for a photo shoot.
The colors became muted after drying but I still like it.

Happy hands, happy heart.

I love the muted colors as I'm not a fan of bright colors. :) It looks lovely and I'm glad you enjoyed a relaxing time. I was painting last night - water colors and determined that I'm an excellent artist when it comes to drawing, but terrible at painting (at least water colors). I'll have to try again. In my sketch book there are all of these lovely intensive drawings that take me months to prepare and then the one watercolor flower painting of last night that took me a little over an hour and looks like I made it in the First grade. :P

All we've had here is rain, rain and more rain. Every day it's been pretty awful this week with temps below normal, strong winds and now rain. Though today, the wind wasn't so bad, so it was simply pouring rain and I did my 4 mile walk in it. I have a great rain repellent coat so I stay dry, but of course the rest of me was soaked, so I come back to my office and lay everything out to dry after I change. :)

Your pendant is gorgeous! Will you be wearing it or will you use it for home decor like you have now?

What a great morning spent in creating, Tammy. I loved when you mentioned how quiet it became...that is the inaudible sound of minds working. And the pendants are a very neat way to use your crochet pieces. Are you planning to make more?

Dearest Tammy,
What a lovely day that was! One cannot believe how creative some people are for inventing such precious things to make with your own hands.
I wasted lots of hours rescuing all text and further info like shipping weight etc. from my website. My webmaster let me know on Sunday that he wants to quit his webhosting as a side job... GREAT! So I had no choice as to prepare to migrate it.
Life is full of surprises. I'm now one third through scanning my photos and really want to stay at it pretty much to finish it and enjoy 'normal' life again. Finally catching up on all those years that I lived for others. Hosting family and friends at our home, taking them sight seeing etc. cooking and baking for them and putting things off for 'later'... No more; I want to claim my life back and get it all out of the way. I've done the scanning of all Pieter's family before, and that took me lots and lots of hours. Now I have to tackle this and getting rid of lots of albums so creating space.
Hugs and enjoy what you are doing!

I have never seen pendants like this, they are really beautiful. I think they are beautiful painted, but just as beautiful with one color yarn as the stitches show up so nicely.
Love yours,
MEredith
