Better Weather

Now that our night time temperatures are getting into the low 80's, our mornings are starting with a lovely cool breeze that makes walking enjoyable once again.  Unfortunately, my neighborhood walking path was not well maintained over the summer and is currently being cut back so isn't very pleasing to the eye.  I hope that with the changing weather, everything will start to grow back quickly.
Everywhere I went yesterday, I noticed all the garbage scattered in the streets and blowing in the wind.  It is quite depressing that no matter how many street cleaners they employ, it's not enough to keep up with the amount of littering that takes place.  Sometimes the sight of it all and the drabness of everything around me just really brings me down.  I will never understand why people prefer to have clean cars but don't mind having a crappy country.  It just doesn't make sense.  And the fact that the government doesn't do anything to encourage or educate makes it even worse.
So this morning I headed to the Corniche which is one of the most well maintained areas in this country.
There were lots of people out walking and the birds were enjoying a freshly cut lawn and water from the sprinklers.
Definitely a sight for sore eyes.

Today was the first time I've seen swallows in the morning as usually they come out right at dusk.  Even with my big camera, it is hard to get a good picture of them since they are always so busy swooping here and swooping there.  But today I captured this one with my phone and was quite pleased.
A nice 45 minute walk in lovely surroundings to start my day off on a positive note.
Have a terrific Tuesday!

Lovely area for a walk-I agree with you I never could understand all the liter. when we first moved here it was like that here too-and then about 8 years or so ago they started a campaign against it-each year they choose from the children a new poster and have added fines it made a big difference

I'm glad it's getting cooler for you there. It makes me sweat just thinking about the heat you have to live in. But, it sure is pretty there. We are cooling off here, too. The high this coming weekend will be in the 60's. I can't wait!

Glad you're getting cooler weather, which for us would naturally feel hot. ;)
That looks like such a lovely place to walk, glad you had a wonderful walk there.

I could never understand the litter issue - I get mad when I see just ONE piece of litter along the road and always say under my breath "lazy people." (Well, I actually think something worse, but I'm trying to be kind here).

Hope you enjoy a wonderful week,
Linda

Thankfully you do have a beautiful place to walk. Such a contrast between the green belt and water views vs. the bleak and drab path with the palm trees. I cannot understand why anyone no matter how poor or wealthy, educated or illiterate can live in filth and litter. Taking pride in one's surroundings should be an inborn trait. My parents taught us very early on to never litter and I am very grateful. Enjoy your cooler weather dear.

I'm so glad that you have some nicer weather for your morning walks. I can't imagine why people litter. I always find something to pick up when I take walks too. It frustrates me. It's getting close to freezing here in town at night. I know that means it's almost time for coats but I'm putting that off as long as possible in rebellion of the fact that winter is on the way. :-)
Blessings,
Betsy

You sure found a clean and scenic place to walk! Love the shot of the water with the city behind. I'm happy for you that your weather is getting less hot. We're having a spate of sunny days and it gets pretty warm in the day.. but still less warm than there! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I am glad your enjoying good weather. It is very frustrating when people don't take pride of their homes and try to keep them beautiful. But I'm glad you have a pretty place to go for a walk.

Hugs,
❤️Ana

It's nice to know that your weather is improving. I know how important your walks are to you. I hate trash. I wonder if there is more of it in places like the ones you and I live in, because they're more open and things can just blow through in the wind. I'm forever picking up trash in my front yard. Most of it is stuff like food wrappers and old newspaper inserts but it's shameful the other stuff I find out there. I can't even type it out. Yuck. We've trained our kids to pick up trash wherever we are, just fill up a bag with as much as we can and try to leave a place better than we found it.

What a treat. Why is this so well maintained and every place else isn't? At least you know where to go for the peace of beauty. Diane

Even with all the littering, your artistic eye captured the true beauty, and so glad to know that the weather is cooler for you. Beautiful photos, sending peace and joy your way! xo

I would imagine that the landscape there could be depressing, but thank goodness you do have some trees and the sea nearby. Beautiful photos and I always love seeing how you live in a foreign land. Other then my son being in Iraq, I really don't know that much about the Middle East unless it is in the news. Nice to share it from your world.

Hello dear Tammy,
We are so lucky here in BC and probably in most of Canada, we have very little litter. We have had lots of education on littering and it just isn't acceptable here. However in Panama, it was a different story. We just took a garbage bag where ever we went. It will be interesting what Thailand looks like,.
Your photos of the clean area look marvellous, and you really took a good photo of the swallows with your iPhone.
Hope you are having a good week.

It looks like a great place to walk Tammy, I would avoid the littered streets too far too depressing, we have lots of fly tipping in my area, usually on beautiful countryside some people will never learn or even care for that matter. I'm glad the weather has cooled enough for you to get out and about more. :) xx

Littering is so senseless and thoughtless.
Happily we see lots less of it here in the U.S. because of education and awareness.
That park certainly looked well kept and enjoyable.
How nice for you to be enjoying cooler temps too.
Happy October Tammy

It must be frustrating to see all that litter, I get so mad when I see anyone drop something out their window, or not pick up after their dog, it is just so ridiculous.
Glad it is getting cooler, we were at 74 this morning when I left for work at 6:20.
Hugs,
Meredith

Dearest Tammy,
Well, that with the trash, we faced in Indonesia where people have absolutely NO concept of respect for the environment. Which reads: the planet for their offspring. They don't care and I'm afraid in our life time and maybe several generations down the road it will not change much.
But I'm happy to see some absolutely stunning photos of majestic palm trees in a beautiful setting. Birds having a 'ball' and you being happy after such a positive sight for almost an hour.
Sending you hugs and enjoy the weekend, as you have known it before... With your son in the USA, that is on your mind anyway!

What a lovely place to take a walk. Too bad your government does not institute a program to keep your city free from litter. I remember when I was younger, before we had a program that was anti-litter -- I saw lots of litter in certain areas. Takes time to change. -- barbara
