The other night I knocked over a near empty cup of tea that just happened to fly in the direction of my laptop leaving a wet trail across my keyboard. I went into quick action to clean up the mess and dry things up but the touchpad stopped working and then it wouldn't turn back on. Yikes! I was afraid it was kaput, but thankfully, after a half day of drying out, we are back in working order.
I breathed a big sigh of relief knowing I hadn't lost years of photos stored on my laptop, so thought I would get back to a quick road trip post from the summer.
Our first stop in Utah was completely unplanned but just happened to be on our way to Moab.
I mean seriously, if you saw this on the side of the road, would you be able to pass it up?
This sign tells you about the area.
College boy and I climbed to the top while senior boy stayed in the car. Hiking, he says, is not his thing. Little does he know that hiking is exactly what we will be doing nearly every single day while in Utah.
Spectacular views from the top.
I do miss such beautiful scenery. Our weather has continued to be unstable with another day of school cancellation on Thursday as a precaution. It's been overcast, muggy, windy, rainy, dusty ... hoping things will start to improve so I can get back to my morning walks.
Happy Halloween!

I love your photos! Takes me back to the early days of my marriage. We loved Moab and like you said, hiked alot. Zion, Bryce Canyon, Arches. So gorgeous. :) Kit
How could your younger son pass up on such a treasure?! Such beautiful shots of this amazing arch! I hope your weather clears soon ... wet and sandy together sounds terrible. We had a bit of drizzle overnight, but back to clear autumn skies this morning. Enjoy your day Tammy :)

These pictures are gorgeous, Tammy! It's amazing how diverse the landscape is in our country. I have not visited that area, but would love to someday. Oooh, scary about your computer.....thank goodness all is well now. I would have convulsions, if I lost the pictures from my computer. Lol! Seriously! I back them up occasionally....it's time to do it again.
Beautiful! I love Utah so much! This is an area I haven't visited yet. I can't wait! :-) P.S. I'm glad your laptop is ok! :-)
I do LOVE a good desert landscape - the beautiful arches in that area, and southwestern CO are just stunning. Looks like a great family day! XOXO
Wow, that is one amazing natural wonder! You and your college boy did good to hike up there! Great photos from within the arch, my fave is of your son sitting there looking out and enjoying the view. I'm glad you didn't fry your computer! Do you have backups of everything? If not.. time to get a backup drive in action! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Tammy -- I have been in the Wilson Arch area -- it certainly overwhelms you with its beauty. Nice that you posted this. -- barbara
I showed my youngest son the beautiful photos in this post and he said, "That's Utah, right?" Last year at this time he drove through some of Utah on his was driving cross country to move here. He said he did not specifically see Wilson's Arch in person, but he would like to do so. Wishing you a safe and happy week! xx
Oh WOW, Tammy, these images are stunning!
Yikes on the laptop dilemma though. So glad it was fine again. I know that placing a mobile/cell phone, that has been exposed to moisture and not working, in a container of uncooked rice overnight does the trick. I had to do it for Aaron's iPhone this past week when he somehow managed to get water on it. Worked a treat! :)
I hope you had a lovely Halloween! xx
Gorgeous scenery! :)
Beautiful photos. I love arches national park.
Hi Tammy....I've seen that photographed many times and it is quite majestic. How wonderful you hiked to the top. Gorgeous views.
I am SOOOOO glad the laptop is working again. Whew! That was a close one. No more tea that close to the keyboard! Susan
Nice shots, Tammy, and I'm so glad it all worked out with your computer. Your heart just jumps up in your throat and you're doomed!!! That fast!!!! Boy, we've really got to depending on these things, haven't we? It's scary. Diane
Dearest Tammy,
What incredible photos you got off your laptop! Glad you could still rescue it and oh my, this summer when accidentally Pieter ran into the cord and made the external hard drive fall off the desk, I too thought I'd lost it all. But even though my PC had died, some wizard managed to scrape all the data off. I can tell you, that was my worst night... so much work on family photos etc. Now I will store it on iCloud.
Sending you hugs,
Mariette
I hope you found a good place to stay, and it looks like you had fun, it is such a holy and spectacular place... hoping your weather calms down... x
A lovely place. Is it really as pinkish-red as it looks in the photos?

Oh my word that is some breathtaking scenery! Maybe even enough to pull me out of my studio!
Thankfully your computer survived. Mr. C "fried" two very expensive ($10,000 each) laptops year apart. I tried to take stemmed wine glasses away from him but he didn't learn. No insurance on expensive work computers...it was his own company! Hiking in Utah is breathtaking and your photos are wonderful. May you enjoy your upcoming week. Blessings...
Oh I love Moab Tammy. I love the colors and the interesting terrain. I think Wilson's arch is such a neat formation among so many great ones. We could hardly get our kids back in the car when we went. They had such fun there.
I'm so glad to read that you were able to save the laptop! Whew!!!!
Have a great week.
sending hugs...
