Boy, I tell ya! You bloggers are a smart bunch. I never even knew there was such a thing as a scented geranium. And thanks to Mariette who sent me a link to Mountain Valley Growers, I now know that there are at least 24 varieties. Wow!
I pulled a leaf and rubbed it between my fingers and it definitely smells like lemon.
I also have the regular variety of geraniums in white and red. With their thick, fuzzy leaves, it is hard to keep them clean and they definitely do not like extreme heat so they won't last a whole lot longer. The scented geraniums are doing really well so I wonder if they will fare a little better as the summer temperatures soar.
My tomato plants are still trying to produce even though the vines are looking rather brown and weathered at this point.
Jingles and I enjoy our time on the balcony. We may not have a yard, but at least we have plants that we can tend to.
Of course, I'm not very happy when she decides to squeeze herself into one of the pots and totally squashes a plant.
This afternoon, a cool wind blew clouds in which caused the sky to darken early.
So hard to believe when I see some of you posting about another major snowfall. Sending warm wishes your way for a terrific Tuesday.

Lovely geraniums - I need to be on the lookout for scented plants. Can't wait to plant!
scented geraniums are really awesome to use in baked goods-just place the leaves at the bottom of the pan then pour in the batter-the cake will take on the flavor of the scented geranium-
Well I learned something new too--scented geraniums? I will have to check them out. I'm sorry about your heel spur. I've had them before and walking is painful, but it's good to keep going. I always enjoy the pictures you take on your walks.
Hello Tammy, Thanks for the warm wishes we can certainly use them... Your flowers are very pretty.. Jingles looks soooooooooooooooooooo very cozy snuggled in side that planters.. LOL I wish you a great week. Hugs judy
Oh Jingles.. that looks like you squished a moss rose! I bet your enjoy your little green oasis out there. I can't wait to pot up some moss roses and lantana! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Thankfully no snow here anymore and none predicted. That's the benefit of living downstate Illinois away from Chicago! ;) Instead, we're enjoying mild springlike weather - of course, it probably doesn't seem too mild for you (it's 50s today here), but it's warm to us. :)
I liked your pretty flowers and Jingles is always adorable. Of our two cats, Lucy and Butters, only Butters is allowed outside on the patio when we are out there (otherwise, he would likely run off and our cats are declawed - they came that way from the shelter - so no outdoor life for them). Lucy doesn't mind - she's petrified of leaving the house and happy to just sit in an opened window sometimes.
Hope you're having a wonderful week,
Linda
I had never heard of scented geraniums. You learn something new everyday! I'm hoping our snow is gone for the season, although they are forecasting a day of rain/snow mix next week. Ick! Jingles looks like he enjoys the sunshine so much! I just want to pick him up and cuddle him. Does he like to be cuddled or is he an independent kitty? Have a lovely day!
Blessings,
Betsy
I love your geraniums. I just planted several in my garden, hot pick. They do better in pots at my house but I just could not resist their beautiful bright colors.
Hugs,
Meredith
That Jingles is a hoot, Tammy. I love geraniums, and the scented ones are lovely. I'll bet yours brighten up your balcony to the max. Susan
These sound wonderful, Tammy! I bet you can get the right breeze to blow that lemon scent into your home!
Jingles is adorable! My little dog Layla lies right in my herb garden when the sun shines on it. Thankfully everything springs back up!
XO,
Jane
Jingles knows how to get comfy and cool. Plants really do bring us such joy. Fair weather for your walks dear...
I love, love, love geraniums. They're one of my favorites. My grandfather grew the scented kind when I was a kid. I remember mint, chocolate and lemon. I can remember the lemon scent almost exactly now that I'm thinking about it. :)
love scented geraniums....love apple and lemon...so enjoy your blog...take care and enjoy your week..
Dearest Tammy,
Thank you for the shout out! I did not have much time to google for some decent info but I knew you got a scented...
As to your comment on my blog for not being able to view my presentation, I tried to email you but it came back to me. So here is what I wrote with some info that might help you to view it:
Dearest Tammy,
We went to Atlanta today and when I got home at first the video did not even show up in IE, only in Google Chrome.
Also several photos did not show up. I did restart my PC and that worked!
As for you, here is a NetworkedBlog link for you that works better than Blogger at times: http://networkedblogs.com/UVzJ5
You also can try my YouTube upload: http://youtu.be/-_uDl0bHK2Y
And of course the official video from the U.S. Embassy - Jakarta Indonesia: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/44307363 where you find me at exactly 1:45:34 into the video.
Sending you lots of hugs,
Mariette
Jingles seems to be quite comfortable squashing your plants Tammy. Tomato plants just keep going and going until they're exhausted, I love fresh sun ripened tomatoes straight from the plant.
Thanks for your visit to my blog.
until next time ...
your cat is absolutely lovely!!!!!!!
xxxxxxx Ale
I agree!! From your post, I have come to know that these flowers are called Geraniums:) I have them in my balcony but never knew the name. It's pink in color. Now I will figure out whether they are scented or not. Thanks for sharing!!
I have cherry tomato plant in balcony, my first ever veggie gardening attempt.
And you can't even get mad a sweet Jingles because she looks so darn cute laying in that pot! LOL!
xo Catherine
I love scented geraniums too, Tammy! I must get some more for this summer, thank you for the reminder! I used to have a big lemon scented one years ago, and then at different times have bought lots of different ones but they don't like the winters here!
Jingles looks so soft and fluffy cuddled up in the flower pot....impossible to be cross about the squashed plant!
Happy week!
