I know it is said we shouldn't live for the weekends, but how I do adore Friday. Especially one that starts out slow and then fills up in the nicest of ways.
First a trip to see my husband's new warehouse. It's nice being the passenger sometimes.
While he drove, I crocheted.
Afterwards a quick snack of chai and chapati from a little hole in the wall.
There is outdoor seating but since our temperatures are already climbing up into the 80's during the day, we decided to eat inside where it was nice and cool.
This was the complimentary bread; a type of focaccia called cecina.
Sam had spinach soup and fritta calamari while I had pomodore soup and a rocca salad. Everything was quite tasty.
The menu and the presentation of the bill were both very unique.
Late afternoon a friend came for coffee so I made a quick batch of chocolate chip bars; he brought different types of apple tarts and strudels.
I always feel like these kind of days just go by way too fast. Perhaps because I don't really want them to end. Wishing you a wonderful weekend in your corner of the world.
Blessings,

All those little details of the restaurant are very interesting! It looks like a combination of coziness and a sort of industrial chic. And I hope the food was as delicious as it appears!
Have a grand weekend, Tammy, and greetings to Mr. Jingles :)
Sounds like a lovely day. finally warm today-so I took a nice walk in our woods.
Lovely way to spend a Friday! I love it too, because it precedes my favourite - Saturday!
Looks like you had a really nice day. Don't you love days like that. The food looks really good. The buildings are so different there. I always enjoying seeing them through you. (((((HUGS))))
Thank you for taking us along on your relaxing Friday. Your tea and your lunch both look and sound delicious. And don't get me started on the strudels and bars. I gained weight just reading your blog today. We got up to 53 degrees today! That makes me so happy, maybe spring is really coming this year after all. Have a lovely weekend!
Blessings,
Betsy
I'm retired but Fridays still hold a unique joy that I get when they come around. The food all looks so luscious! I'm heating my supper now so being hungry doesn't help. It all looks so good!
First of all let me say that 80 degrees sounds absolutely fabulous!!! We still have snow on the ground!
There is a reason they say "TGIF" Thank God It's Friday!!!!
What a lovely day, Tammy. And the food looks lovely. Blessings, Diane
Dearest Tammy,
Oh it certainly is because we don't want to end nice days... holding on to the enjoyment forever.
Your menu for the day sounds just fabulous.
Hope your new week did start off well.
Hugs,
Mariette

Happy weekend, Tammy!
I haven't visited for a while, and what a wonderful surprise awaited me :)) You never cease to brighten the day.. Such lovely pics to share Thanks Tammy :))
Amazing interior and presentation of the menu and bill in that restaurant, Tammy. I like to see such new ideas.
Have a great Saturday!
Hugs,
Julia
Goodness you had a fun day of getting around! Thanks for showing us around.. we're just excited it got up to 61 today! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Weekends always go by way too fast. Weekdays while working? Not so much. But it looks like you pack a lot of good things over the shortness of a weekend. Wonderful.
xo Catherine
I love a fun day that takes on it's own pace, traveling along, making lovely memories.
Hugs,
Meredith
I love the weekends too and with retirement just 5 years out now for me, I think about that A LOT. I'm so through with working, and just want to be able to do what I want to do when I want to do it all the time. :) You certainly have interesting restaurant choices... it's not that here, everything is pretty basic meat & potatoes so to speak, except for a few more unusual choices in Champaign (a university town) but we rarely eat at any of those places because my husband doesn't like anything spicy or vegetarian. Daughter and I will occasionally try different things though. :)
Our weekend is just beginning and although it's a rain/snow mix today after warm temps yesterday, tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and warmer again. I may still venture out in a bit for a walk along our own path, that runs right behind our house.
Happy weekend to you,
Linda
Reading that felt like we got to hang out with you! Thanks for sharing. Now I'm hungry & you reminded me to start my crochet project I've been waiting to start!
Weekends are a pleasure to anticipate. The pace of life eases somewhat and I enjoy having my husband at home (and not waiting for a call for me to teach.) Lots of good eating happened out your way.
Lovely post, looks like a perfect day, I can understand why you didn't want it to end! X
I love when you take us on your daily trips and show us pics of the foods you eat. That bread makes me think of the savoury Indian papadums.
Have a beautiful week ~ xo
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, dearest Tammy, everything looks delicious and sounds like a wonderful day! Is melenzane an "usual" word in your part of the world? In Italy and in Austria melanzana or Melanzani is the word for eggplant (or aubergine)... Oh, and in Austria the temperatures are climbing up now, too - to 15° C that's about 59° Fahrenheit... :o)
Warm hugs to you from early-springtime-Austria,
Traude

I love Fridays, too, Tammy. But, alas, tonight is Sunday already and 5:30 a.m. will come quickly. So glad you had a lovely Friday. Hope you also have a super good week. Susan
