Today was an absolutely gorgeous day. A little cooler than it has been with lots and lots of fluffy clouds floating by.
I took a friend out for a birthday breakfast to a new restaurant called the Cocoa Room. Very cool place with a nice, unique atmosphere and very efficient staff.
We shared blueberry waffles and a bowl of exotic fruits along with cups of coffee. It's nice to share because portion sizes are usually way too big and it also helps to keep the cost down.
For lunch I made one of my favorite cabbage salads. I posted the recipe here if you are interested.
And I must admit, I might have a slight addiction to microwave mug cakes at the moment. Yesterday I posted about the blueberry mug cake I made for breakfast. Then after cleaning for 5 hours, I decided to reward myself with a cinnamon mug cake with streusel topping. I used this recipe, but added cinnamon and chopped pecans to the mix, substituted applesauce for the oil in the cake and used a teaspoon of coconut oil for the streusel. It was delicious with a cup of ginger tea.
Now today, I decided to get creative and made an olive oil lemon mug cake with lemon glaze. Boy was it good. Even hubby agreed.
We were supposed to walk this afternoon but a sand storm was predicted so we decided to play it safe and stay at home. Although the wind picked up a bit and some dark clouds came through, the weather never did get bad.
And so, once again, another weekend is drawing to an end. I hope you are enjoying yours!
Best wishes and blessings,

Yum! It looks like you have had a very delicious time of things lately. Glad your weather is beautiful, it is here too. I spent time planting today and it was lovely.
Hugs,
Meredith
Your mug cakes are so intriguing. The lemon one reminds me of an olive oil/rosemary savory cake we had at a bed and breakfast once; they served it as the breakfast bread. The restaurant you went to looks very nice, I hope your friend had a wonderful birthday!
Lovely round up of your weekend. I like the idea of the mug cakes, I must look into them! Xxx
I love the mug cupcake and muffin idea.. thanks for inspiring me! You do have lots of fun with your life.
((hugs)), Teresa :-)
A weekend of good food, time with friends, and a pink sky. Beautiful.
Beautiful pictures today. I especially like the first one. Beautiful. I know I said that already but it is. Beautiful. :-). I'm enjoying your mug recipes too. Thanks so much for sharing.
Blessings,
Betsy
How nice to try a new restaurant! The food sounds wonderful. I'm off to check out your link. I Pinned a lot of mug desserts at Christmas time...I have to go back and look! ;-)

Dearest Tammy,
aaah, I love your photos! Today we have a "nonono-I-don't-go-outside-weather"! No sandstorm, but VERY stormy. Yesterday there was much rain, but we HAD TO go out for food-shopping and visiting mum in the nursing home and in the evening we went to cinema and saw the Oscar-movie "Dallas Buyers Club" (great performance) - but today there's no reason to leave the house ;o)) I see you hat wonderful food the last days (hope you also could satisfy your appetite for Indian food :o)
Warm austrian hugs, Traude
